I usually don't watch too much horror-themed shows, but i made an expection for this one. I find it somewhat enjoyable, for now.

Episode 3

Here comes the one who made these graves, Eddie, and he is giving Rachel a choice to be killed by either him or Zack. And Rachel chooses Zack to kill her, but he's none too pleased about the way she went about making that choice. But better him than that shovel wielder as he didn't take that rejection well. So to convince her to let him be the one who kills her, Eddie has an extravagant grave prepared for her, which ends up being Eddie's grave instead. That Eddie sure was a delusional kid, but in the end he got what was coming to him.

Episode 3

This week we are introduce to Eddie Mason the person in charge of the floor Zack and Rachel are on. He likes to make graves for people that are gonna die but falls in love with Rachel after seeing her, so wants to be the person to kill her. However Rachel chooses Zack over Eddie so a fight breaks out. Eddie uses the darkness to his advantage since he can see in the dark and messes with Zack. However Eddie messes up by letting his guard down and Rachel is able to get the remote that controls the lights and Zack finishes him off. Now that Eddie has been taken care of they move on to the next floor which seems like a prison. When it comes to the ones in charge of the floors they seem to be dying fast so i wonder if they are really dead or they can come back to life? We still have 9 episodes to go, so they must still be alive or else who else will Zack and Rachel face?

Episode 3

Three episodes in and I still have no idea what the hell this show is about.

Rachel wants to be killed. We get it now. It seems that she is destined or at least desires to be killed by Zack the most. That Eddie kid is such a strange character. He seems to want to kill Rachel like a form of art...

Ugh. Weird show.

Episode 3:

Aaaand here's the important scene in the story where Zack swears to God and Rachel takes it literally. Though I personally interpreted it as Zack just swearing it out loud in frustration because he's screwed without her solving puzzles for him, ESPECIALLY since he was constantly bashing at the wall with the pickaxe during the conversation in the game. So I'm kinda going "Huh." at Zack acting so calmly during that exchange in the anime.

(More importantly, how the heck did they even hear each other without yelling if they're talking through a wall. Actually, where's the pickaxe, he used his scythe here but they literally said an episode ago that his scythe would break if he used it on the graves so why would a WALL be okay? Either that it's a weak-ass wall or J.C. Staff. needs to edit his scythe as the pickaxe for that scene for the blu-ray.)

I know at least one person on my twitter tl was sad that there wasn't any epic music like this one going on during that exchange, and while I constantly mourn for the absence of the game's great OST, I don't know. I actually thought it was kinda out of place. I mean, I understand why it was there after replaying the game, but when I first played it, it felt overdramatic. XD Especially since it felt kinda weird to go back to not having any music immediately after Zack breaks down the wall. So, I'm personally okay with the change here I think!

The second half was the better half, in my opinion though. I do like the added emotion with Eddie when Rachel rejects him. There really wasn't anything that ever really hinted about his personality outside his strange fixation on graves in the game. So it makes me curious what his past must've been like to believe that people can't decide on what they want to do. I wonder if we'll ever delve into that or if we'll just ignore it like the game.

I feel like I can forgive Rachel a little for how she dropped the gosh darn crowbar in Danny's floor here with how she took down Eddie here. That was pretty awesome, and I enjoyed the changes from the game. Originally, Rachel had to run through a maze of graves and walls in the darkness with a flickering flashlight to turn on the switch that may-or-may-not be there at the end of the maze and avoid trying to get killed by Eddie. Once she did that, Eddie would be standing near the large tombstone and Zack would kill Eddie in the same manner as in the anime (but a little less onesided-love angst at the end and more slasher-happy fun for Zack.) I thought it was actually kinda annoying how the constant lights flickering was way too convenient so I'm glad they went with the change that Eddie had a remote for all the light switches here.

I also really enjoyed the re-imagining of that final room. Because in the game it... wasn't very pretty at all lol.

But at least in the anime, it really reflects more on Eddie's personality, who's a gentle kid that pours his efforts on his craft and enjoys the beauty of things. (If you can really call a serial killer "gentle" anyways, lol.) I really enjoyed it. Plus, we actually get to see Eddie's face here! We never got to see Eddie's face in the game!

So yeah, B4 is basically where Zack and Ray start their budding friendship through their partnership. (With Zack finding enough respect for Rachel to start calling her by a nickname and Rachel affirming that only Zack can kill her because he swore to God.) Because nothing brings people closer than murdering people, apparently! I'm just glad to be out of B4 because B3 is one of the more better floors in my opinion, lol.

Ray's constant "Zack, you'll kill me right??" is the exact reason why I keep hoping that people will like Zack because he's honestly the one who carries the story for a lot of people. Mostly because he's the other main character, the Garry to Ray's Ib, the funnier one out of the two... and he doesn't sound like a broken record for a majority of the story. It's not that Rachel isn't an interesting character, she has a lot of character growth and an intriguing mindset to go with her backstory. It's just... she's not a very fun conversational partner lol.

The next episode will probably be a slow one again, unless they end it on one of the more dangerous puzzles, so here's hoping they'll actually nail the comedic bits this time around.

3 episodes in and this is still really dragging for me. It seems like this should be more comedic, but it just isn't.

Feels like this will be my first drop.

I'm on episode three now and so far, I'm enjoying it. I'm curious to see how the story plays out and am intrigued by the relationship with Zack and Rachel. I'll be sticking around to watch the rest of the series, even if it's dragging a bit. Main criticism: Rachel needs to stop asking Zack if he's going to kill her. We get it. She wants to die. Stop reminding the viewer every five second.

Ugh. Why does such a great ED have to be attached to such a lame duck of a show?

Took me a while, but I'm finally understanding that serial killer "styles" are being portrayed by the different floor masters. And the "aesthetics" that drive them to commit murder.

Carries the story? There is no story.

Just stupid. If Rachel really wants to die she would have taken Eddie up on his offer: painless, clean, artistic and with a fine internment. Why instead hang with Zack who is going to make her work for it?

And Rachel's constant "you will kill me, right?" really makes me want to get it over with. There is nothing about her to relate to. Not even Zack can relate to her and that (along with about 3 IQ points) why she is still alive.

Maybe this structure works in a video game but as an anime story it simply doesn't.

This is the feeling I'm getting here as well. It really does feel like this might work a lot better as a game than an anime, especially in a game where you don't have Zack's ridiculous over the top voice acting and just the overall goofy presentation of everything.

Nobuhiko Okamoto's voice acting is keeping me entertained. Like a deranged Bakugo. He also worked Crazy last season as Asagiri (Magical Girl Site). Fun listening to him in these types of roles.

The thing is that it's not that simple.

Without spoiling it, I'll say it's related to the fact that Zack swore to God. Even though
he wasn't very serious on that at all, the fact he did is very important to her, especially since
this is a story with religious themes to it. I guarantee that she is the kind of person who would've
most definitely taken up Eddie's offer then and there otherwise.

That's why she was getting all up in Zack's business going "You swore to God, right?? You swore, right??"
after Zack broke down the wall. I guess we really needed that dramatic music playing in
the background for that scene after all? 0:

I guess I can agree. I kinda blame it on the fact that it's more frustrating waiting on the story
to come on a week to week basis instead of just... playing the game since you can
speed through the game in however kind of pace you want. Plus, the anime just sort of
misses on things.

(Like, Zack seems more Edgy in the anime than in the game, if that's even possible.
He's actually a little more childlike and is the kind of guy that goes "Hey Ray wanna go throw rocks at cars together? :D"
So his dumbass moments don't really land as well.)

Plus there's the fact that honestly none of the characters are supposed to be truly relatable since they're
all pretty off their rockers in some shape or form. (who the heck sews up a dead bird's body
while they're escaping from a serial killer?? Rachel??? Hello??? You should be running????)
Of course, some people may enjoy the mystery of how they tick but other people just can't enjoy the story that way.
