Ughh done, was Eddie supposed to be scary because he shut out the lights? I don't get it, and why the hell does Rachel give two sh!ts about whether Zack gets out or not? I mean how did he get in, retrace your steps dumbass.

Aaaand you see why Eddie is my least favorite floormaster lmao. He's only scary in the game if only because running around in the dark Sucked.

Anyways, you're free to drop the anime if you want but to answer your questions;

1, she cares because they made a promise and he swore to God he'd kill her.
The fact that he swore to God is very important to her, even if he most likely wasn't saying that literally.

2, he literally said in an earlier episode that he doesn't know the layout of the building.
If they don't cut it out of the anime, he'll be a little more in detail about his ignorance soon.

This isn't even accounting the fact that the floormasters can probably remodel the floors however
way they like considering that Zack's floor looks like a series of alleys.

Yeah but she started helping lhim last (first?) episode, he didn't "swear to God" until this episode or did I miss it earlier?

This place they find themselves in is a bit like a zoo for human monsters and I get the sneaking suspicion that of all the monsters on exhibit, Rachael may turn out to be the most dangerous.

I am staying for this just to find out the reason why everyone has the same goal on each floor and that is to kill Rachel, and I also wonder who set this building up too.

I don't think it's a universal goal at all. The last guy just wanted her eyes and it's implied it might kill her, but he just wanted the eyes.

I think overall this show's working for me, the writing isn't the best and I don't think they're ever going to really do anything to make the dynamic between the main characters work better, but I can look past a lot of that because of this cool concept and atmosphere and because I just have a personal preference towards these types of dark crazy characters. What I think is a really big problem, though, is the pacing because it's fine to build atmosphere, but we spent two episodes on this one floor to learn really nothing new about either of the characters while just hanging around Eddie whose gimmick is kind-of interesting, but he's just so basic....

"I love you so I want to kill you, why won't you let me do it?" That's a good idea for a character that you could explore and really do a lot with, like why is he into this, has he killed loved ones before, what twisted this kid into being so messed up.... We get NONE of that, just the surface level components and then that's just where the show goes and it feels like we wasted way too much time on stuff that just didn't matter or didn't really add anything instead of actually getting to the heart of what could have been a really interesting character if more work was put into him.

Knowing this is a game, this VERY MUCH just feels like this was all there was to the actual game and instead of adding more to that the anime was just like "Okay, we need to stretch this out to fill the season, so lets turn this short area into this bloated kind-of dull thing."

Again, I'm still on-board, I don't think this is a deal-breaker at all, but I kind-of wanted more from this and I completely believe this show could have done better with what it has to work with.

No you didn't miss it! It's just that there's more to her values and way of thinking than simply wanting to die because her parents are dead.
So that's why she rather fickle with how she wants to die (ex; won't commit suicide, now only wants Zack to kill her) despite never shutting up
about her death wish over and over again. Though we won't get to REALLY see insight in her mind until floors B2/B1. So it'll be a while.

... A-At least floor B3 should be more fun to watch...?

I guarantee you though that Rachel most likely would've agreed to Eddie's deal if Zack didn't say those exact words.
It's just part of the ** ~Weirdly Written Mystery~ ** on our hands.

You are exactly correct about Eddie.

I actually was hoping for literally any kind of Eddie backstory being brought into the anime but??? Nothing??? Than maybe a bit more emotion than I expected when Rachel turned him down? Like the line how you can't choose what you want to do didn't stand out to me in the game compared to the anime so I was actually interested to see some insight on that. But he's so woefully underutilized and I always keep forgetting about him with how everyone else pops out in some way.

And that's kinda saying something when practically the entire cast is full of serial killers.

It's not like they're afraid of change or anything either, Zack and Ray's final confrontation with Eddie went differently than compared to the game. So it was definitely a missed opportunity. I'm hoping maybe the extra episodes may possible shed some light with him but I'm not holding my breath for it.

But we should start getting backstory for our main characters starting from the next upcoming episodes, if it'll make you feel better?
If not the next one, then the following one, if I'm guessing the show's pacing correctly.

The premise of this show is stupid. Rachel wants to die but she won't commit suicide, or let anyone but Zack kill her because he swore to god. Zack won't kill her because she doesn't have the right expression on her face. What difference does it make?!? IT"S JUST SO STUPID!!

Asking and agreeing to have someone kill you is still suicide, even if you're assisted by a homicidal maniac instead of a doctor. She could always fake emotions, but let me guess, she has no emotions whatsoever. Then there's Zack who doesn't understand why a girl who willingly wants to die isn't full of life and cheer because his brain is the size of a peanut.

I'm gonna write a series about a girl who wants to be murdered, but only by a dwarf with a mullet wearing a Speedo. She finds her murdering Speedo-wearing mullet dwarf, but he'll only kill her if she quacks like a duck while wearing rubber horse head. That what this show is to me.

Rachel's a good girl, she just doesn't want to do this herself. So either she helps someone out and gets what she wants or they fail and she's just killed by any of the other multiple murderers here anyways. She could probably just annoy him until he does it or something, but she's a good girl, so she wants to help people out if she can and Zack's clearly too dumb to make any of this work on his own.

It's contrived, but it's like whatever, you know? Besides, I feel like we're probably going to get more to this than it seems like there is. I've got a pretty strong feeling that Rachel's not in this place by chance and that she might end up being one of the craziest people there or something.

Episode 4

And now, the floor boss of the week is Cathy as she's a judge and executioner giving Zack all she could handle, all while the two are getting their picture taken. While Zack is suffering on the electric chair with a bunch of dolls watching them all. And to get past all this, Rachel slaughtered those dolls. Then comes the gas chamber as Rachel finds a way out through some writing covered by a corpse, but there's something else to it. Man, that Cathy sure is a sadistic bitch there putting those two through all sorts of torture and everything.
