This continues to be one of the best overlooked gems of the season. If you like slice of life romance and coming of age stories this one is well worth watching despite the CGI animation. It is surprisingly genuine.

Right? Gouda-sensei is wicked! Hope next episode isn't another airport scene.

The one bright side to having such a mediocre selection of anime this season is it made me give chances to a ton of shows I normally never would have which led to discovering hidden treasures like High Score Girl and Harukana Receive. I still don't like the cgi animation much, but the story and characters are charming.

I'm glad I didn't miss this one. It was a real trip down memory lane for this old former 90s arcade rat.

It would be cool for these type of arcades to make a comeback! I've never been to one and closest likeness is playing retro games in the movie theaters lol.

I love everything about this show.

Arcades really are a dying breed although depending on where you live you may still be able to find one or two proper arcades that are still in business. Most, these days, exist as small add ons to larger entertainment centers for example the movie theater you described or something like Chuck E. Cheese's where the arcade games play second fiddle to redemption ticket or prize games like cranes. I think what really hurt arcades was the rise of cheap powerful home consoles and other gaming platforms. Back in the day if you wanted to play the best games you pretty much had to do it in the arcade because the home systems simply were not powerful enough to run them.

It sucks but I want to build one in the future - hopefully in the next 2 years. Have to own the building for it to do well that's for sure.

Episode 12 (finale)

Haha, Haruo's character personality never ceases to amuse me in this series.

Glad the episode decided to focus a lot on him and Oono together. They're also playing games together again! Koharu also returns this episode and it's obvious that she still likes Haruo. The two spend some time together too. It kinda shows a difference between his relationship with the two main girls. That confession from Koharu though!

I wish this series lasted longer since it has the potential to extend the storytelling. For what's shown, I still found it pretty enjoyable overall.
