As someone has said, this episode was comedy of the season!
The Hange and Armin scenes had me howling - RIP Armin's innocence
Sasha is a damn good shot - she deserves her bread and tates.

And as others have said, the new OP wasn't great compared to the previous, but it was alright on its own, and the still shots in the animation were quite pretty, Young Erwin looked like a manchild though...

The opening minute had a time skip to a beach - dafuq?

Never liked religious nuts, but Pastor Nick was a good man.

I presume Power and Vessel corresponds to Eren & Historia respectively, which may be why Lord Reiss is in the Royal inner circle.
The Royal King doesn't look that old, but it does get me thinking about the previous season's ED animation.

And a man who Levi is afraid of, what a way to finish the episode.

What was with all that sakuga at the end? I heard that WIT's supposed to be in a real pickle for this season and if that's true then they shouldn't be blowing all their money this early on.

That OP is helllllllllllllllllllaaaaaaaaaaaaa sofffffffffffffft, yikes.

Aside from that, great ep back, god i love the new slow reveal intensity, its just a edging build up, and every min feels just more tense. The ost adds to the atmosphere as well, felt like we never left the show and you just jump right back into this world. I love the big fights and all, but i think what i love more about the series is when it hits the detective intricate lvls and the mystery behind this world, even being spoiled on most of the manga at least before Jan of this year everything still fresh and a worth while reveal.

This Kenny vs Levi battle is gonna be fucking lovely!!

Captain Levi, cold as ever. Feels bad for Nfia, having not watched this show in awhile , you forget how hype it can get. Kenny vs Levi, can't wait for next week.

Love how they always figure out a scheme and plan ahead of time, AND THEN plan a plan in case the enemy planned and knows about the original plan, but the enemy always has a plan just for that and planned ahead.

Well I felt season 2 asked a bunch of questions and answered very few. Seems like season 3 is starting with questions. No hint about what Bertholdt and Reiner wanted with Christa and Erin. Will that even be answered this season, or is this all going to be about how man is a greater enemy than Titan?

The royal family playing the Roman game of populares politics.

Hopefully Erin isn't such a stupid whiny brat this season.

I hear that this arc was the most divisive among manga readers and that the next arc is the most beloved. Fortunately this season is going to be long enough to cover both.

I really agree. Plus Kenny is such a bad name for a villain, can't wait to shout: "oh my God, you killed Kenny! You bastards!" in a few eps... probably, didn't read the manga. Just seems like that whole guy is a bit of a plot device not a concrete story development I was waiting for.

By the way, something happened to the animation, the characters seem more "rubbery" than they used to be ;o No more toned colors and thick lineweight, seems like someone cut the funds for animators...
