I've met a lot of people (online and offline) who watch anime, and generally, most of them avoid watching slice-of-life genre anime, saying that it bores them. I've only met one person who said that she watches slice-of-life as it is the most logical genre compared to the others, which is a pretty weird reason for me.

Is there any other reason why you guys watch slice of life anime if it does not bore you? Also which anime do you think excellently portrays the genre?

Plenty of people like Slice of Life, even outside of anime.

Heck what do you think King of the Hill is.

I started to watch Slice of life mainly because I was getting bored watching the same cliche.

Slice of life is actually an incredibly broad genre. So much so that I rarely use it to describe whatever anime I'm watching.

Club anime, sports, harem, comedy, romantic comedy, moe...all of these and more can easily get that label depending on the anime having a realistic real-world setting.

Lots of people want a show to have a beginning, middle and (pseudo) end. Possibly it feels like there's something being accomplished that way?

That, and I've known people that want to always see action scenes in their media.

I just watch anime for fun. Very few have "strong" narratives anyway.

I prefer slice of life stories as manga. I feel that the stories align themselves well to being able to pace them yourself.
With anime the director will decide how long to spend on each interaction, each beautiful sunset, each loving embrace. The stories are glorious and rich and engaging and calm and soothing, but I feel tiny bits are lost when translated to anime or with any story being told through the anime medium.
GoGo Monster by Taiyo Matsumoto made me realise that slice of life manga gives an ability to maximise the positive elements of Slice of Life. Obviously there isn't an anime to compare to for this story, but it gave me the ability to direct the story myself, and it gave me such a blissful experience.
Just thought i'd throw it out there.

Don't know if these appeal to the slice of life genre, but...

Amagi Brilliant Park was fun.
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo was fun.
Kokoro Connect was fun and interesting.
ReLife was fun and interesting.

Don't know if we're talking about Rom-com SOL, or Crazy-schoolgirl comic-strip SOL, but if the latter, write down "Azumanga Daioh":
The show whose gags raised the bar SO high for Crazy-schoolgirl comic-strip SOL, it cruelly raised the hopes of any other series that thought it looked too easy.

There are many in the genre, but to this day, There Can Only Be One.

Uh, Mike Judge still trying to convince the world he had a third film idea?

Yes.

Why? Because I'm a Canadian.

There's not enough variety.

I find the moeblob/ CGDCT slice of life shows boring. However, I really enjoy slice of life series like Sweetness and Lightning, Barakamon and Hakumei and Mikochi.
