I'm curious what everyone has as their favorite manga, be it an ongoing one or a completed one.
Where the couples don't exactly appear to share many interests at first, it could be the shy introverted guy, who catches the interest of the super popular girl.

Just a couple of weird characters in general, or mabye something else entierly out of this world!

As for my own favorites, a few of them are ongoing, they are listed in no particular order.

"Sono bisque Doll wa ko wo suru" - Ongoing.

This series have our main characters that are pretty far apart in personalities, our main male lives with his grandfather and helps him make traditional japanese dolls, while our heroine is a super popular girl who does modeling part time, she also loves Ero games and cosplay, and after meeting by chance, she asks our main character for help creating an outfit based on her favorite eroge character. It's pretty fun so far :)

"Amano Megumi Wa Sukidarake!" - ongoing (144 chapters and counting)

Childhood friends with completly oposite personalities that slowly....glacially so...grow closer as the story progresses, Megumi is a kendo club member and has a huge crush on her childhood friend Manabu, a student in the advanced classes at her school, he aspires attending university in tokyo, to meet up with his middle school crush, while pretty oblivious too Megumi's feelings, as is ofcourse too be expected in Manga :p He stresses constantly about having to "shield" Megumi as she's pretty careless and constantly flashes various parts of her...ahem...ample figure. Nothing entierly unexpected happening in this one, moves forward steadily if somewhat glacially slow at times.

"please don't bully me, Nagatoro" Ongoing

This one is a bit of a mixed bag for me, it's entertaining, but i'm a bit mixed on the interactions our our two characters in this one, Nagatoro loves teasing her sempai, who for now remains unnamed, seemingly as a way to get closer to him.
She's super outgoing with lot's of friends, while he's the extremly shy, often bullied friendless guy who likes too hang around the art club alone, as the series progresses they get closer and closer, and while she does tease him alot, if any one else actually attempts something simillar, she get's fiercly protective, so while it's not out of malice, i am still as i mentioned a bit torn on the content, the manga as a whole is pretty good though.

my final one for now is

"Gal Clea!" also ongoing.

Our main characters are Daisuke Kaji a serious student with a somewhat eager approach when it comes to cleaning, and handles the typical "gals" pretty badly. The second character Chiroko Iega, your typical flashy super Gal, is horrendously bad at keeping her house clean.

the usual manga magic happens, and the two of them end up living together, not that many chapters out so far, but fairly enjoyable!

These are four mangas that i would definently recommend to anyone looking for something new to read.

Does anyone have any other mangas where the couples are polar oposites, just weird, or at the end of the day just make for an adorable duo to recommend? list them bellow!

Bonnouji: (Completed)
He's an early-20s programmer, working from home, a borderline hikimori. She's a hard-drinking, OL getting out of a long-term relationship. And they make just about the cutest couple in any manga. (If you like that, try Densha Otoko)

Koi Dano, Ai Dano (Completed)
He's an extremely popular, charismatic, smart--typical male shoujo lead. But he's also head-over-heals for a girl who is exceptionally clever, borderline diabolical, and eager to manipulate others from the shadows... and who never in a million years thinks of herself as the kind of girl that anyone would ever fall for.

Yandere Kanojo (Completed)
He's a very smart, but otherwise very boring guy--a background character, through and through. She is an incredibly violent gal. They both think the other is almost perfect, and can't imagine why the rest of the world doesn't see it. The whole thing is hilarious.

Change 123 (Completed)
Girl has multiple personality disorder: her main personality is shy and withdrawn, but the other three are all insanely tough and violent. The guy is short, nerdy, cries easily, and sees the world through the lens of Kamen Rider. It's a bloody, violent, ecchi mess, and yet the central love story is insanely cute.

I'd definitely recommend Komi-san wa Komi-san wa Komyushou Desu, it's about a popular girl who, unknown to the majority of her fans, has a communication disorder. The guy who first finds out about it is completely and utterly average and he vows to help her achieve her dream of making 100 friends.

Another great one also stars a popular girl, Kusumi-kun, Kuuki Yometemasu ka? (Ongoing) It's about a girl named Sakura who is the most popular girl in school but somehow manages to fall in love with a plain guy named Kusumi who can't read the mood and loves birds. A bonus is that this one is available officially digitally in English.

A good one I recently found is Rike ga Koi ni Ochita no de Shoumeishitemita (Ongoing), it's about two scientific researchers who are trying to find out what love is and whether they actually love each other (really funny).

Kono Bijutsubu ni wa Mondai ga Aru! (Ongoing) is really funny but the romance pacing is similar to Amano Megumi... The animes on Crunchyroll too.

Lastly, I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (Completed but apparently in Japan if you go see the movie they give you a sequel the author made bcz of the movie) is one of my favorite romances with an mismatched couple and I would definitely recommend this one, its getting licensed and there's even an anime movie coming out September 1st in Japan.

I probably have some more but I think this is enough for now...

I want to eat your pancreas was so sad even if the ending was never going to be any other way.

only seen the anime of Kono Bijutsubu, will take a peek at the manga for sure.

The other two i hadn'tt heard of but will take a look :)

A new recommendation from me:

Comic Studio (26 chapters, completed)

Not an mismatched couple per see, but they are definently somewhat excentric.
Our main hero is an aspiring manga artist, and he gets the oppurtunity to be an asistant to his favorite mangaka, whom he thinks is a man.

But ofcourse, this is not how the story progresses ;-) Turns out she's a girl his age.

Being only 26 chapters, it is a bit short, but without any uncessesary forced drama coming from the left and right, it progresses decently and ends up being a sweet rommance between two somewhat eccentric people :-)

the same author also made SE (system engineer) our main hero goes to work at a small company as a systems engineer, the companys main focus is trying to make the ultimate....ona-hole....of all things, and the company president is a high school aged girl.
It's definently the odd pairing going on in that one, but it's pretty entertaining.

Just remembered another one.. it's called Misoshiru de Kanpai! and it's about two childhood friends who end up eating breakfast together every morning, while the male mc has a crush on the girl, she actually wants to become his mother (not as in she wants to get with his dad haha ) While it sounds a little weird you get to see that there's a good reason for that and the pacing is really nice too.

Sono bisque Doll wa ko wo suru and Bonnouji are really good so far by the way, nice recommendations

i really like Sono Bisque Doll too it's great so far haha

hm for some ongoing ones that i read recently-

Gokushufudo/Way of the House Husband
(scary looking yakuza dude puts aside his old lifestyle for an apron wearing domestic life while his cute bubbly otaku waifu pursues her career - she only shows up in a few chapters so far but theyre still rly cute together)

Itou-kun wa Koi wo Shiranai
(faceless yokai goes to high school to learn about humans and snags himself a clingy Gal gf which leads to super cute fluff fest (note- make sure u read the new series version not the oneshot hentai this was based on lol))

Boku no Orion
(tall handsome princely dude with self esteem issues falls in love w/ short mousy nerdish girl but instead of the typical shojo "aww the ikemen likes little ol me??? wow im so happy lets live a fairytale together" she flat out rejects him at first and insists on just being his "fan" from a distance and even as they bond with each other more she keeps friendzoning him)

~~edit: this isnt really an odd couple but one of my recent fav mangas of all time is Saotome Senshu, Hitakakusu: i guess equal parts sports manga and romance, our main couple is Saotome (the star of the school's boxing club // cool gentle giant tomboy type with a secret girly side) and Satoru (the 'weak' link of the boxing club who never wins a match but also never gives up on his dreams, he lowkey reminds me of deku from mha lol) and they arent really polar opposites or anything bc theyre actually really similar in that theyre both big ol boxing nerds who are super serious about their sport but are also both inexperienced shy dorks when it comes to love and relationships and so it takes a while to develop but i just had to include it on here bc they are one of my fav couples and all their interactions are SUPER CUTE and wholesome, and i guess the pair could be considered unconventional since the girl is the taller/larger one and also the more popular one who asked out the smaller more nerdy boy first instead of the other way around

Saotome senshu is brilliant, i just love them together and the pacing of the story is fairly decent, chapters are a bit short though :-(

Will have to check out some of the recent recommendations, seems to be a few gems there :)

Sono Bisque, why why why can't it be a weekly *sob* on the other hand, i kind of doubt it will reach much more then 20ish chapters, the whole story seems to come to an end when he finishes the costume, would love too read it for years though :p

Gal Gohan:

Because I'm a sucker for sweethearted gal characters. Main pairing is the Gal protagonist who is horrible at cooking and needs to pass home-ec in order to not be held back. Main dude is one of the teachers at said Gal's school who is also the advisor to the cooking club and loves to cook food. It's devolved into a bit of a harem but the story makes damn sure you know that it's the GalxTeacher all the way.

Been hunting for more sweet Gal x ____ stories if anyone has any more suggestions. Will be checking out the Itou-kun one as well as Bonnouji and Comic Studio

Remembered another one again, its a really good one! It's called She is the Rokurokubi (Completed ), and it's the perfect blend of comedy and romance. Every character in it is amazing and throughout the whole series the author tries to trick you into thinking its just another comedy manga when it actually has a really good plot.. the only downfall is that its really short, but I had to post about it since you're really missing out if you haven't read it.
