I just watched Miss Machiko last night and had no issues. It only plays as fast as 480 because that is what the original recording was.

But there's also side benefits to this approach. When you are ready to make the switch permanent, you can query the user profiles for all of the people that have the switch set to "old player" and message them that they need to check their browser with the new player.

It is too late for that, as that switch was already made permanent about 18 days ago when CR achieved getting 100% of subscribers on the HTML5 player. Once that happened, CR would have seen no point keeping something around that no one was using, and more importantly, keeping the resources around that supported it.

Thanks for the info, sorry my post was late on the topic. But I would point out the ones that the player did not work for are subtracted from that 100% figure. And they're possibly off Crunchyroll unless they could solve the problem on their own, which is generally considered a huge problem.

Just my 2 cents.

I wish that the player would resize when you shrink or expand your window automatically or at the very least have several sizes to choose from. The free HTML5 plugin player could do that so I see no reason the official one shouldn't do so...

I seem to have a problem with micro pauses, regularly during watching a video the action will pause for a second or so, but the sound and subtitles are fine. when you check the progress bar it has downloaded well ahead so must be a player problem. Using Chrome ver 69 and have an i5 and 1050 ti with Windows 7 pro. Anyone else have this problem?

Why cannot I remove the subtitle from my anime? I want to watch the anime with no subtitle interference.

How fast is your internet, if you have other people on it at the same time it may be too slow. Check out speedtest.org to see what you are really getting. Second if you are on wifi and it is only 2gig you will have that happen, I did. A Lot of the newer routers can handle 5gig. After I got a $25.00 dongle from amazon my speed went from 40 mps to 115mps and all my problems were solved.

I've had to switch browsers because the video player doesn't load on internet explorer. I also have a problem with commercials. Not only are there twice as much which prolly is intended... when it goes back to the video I get another commercial in 5 seconds, sometimes 3 times in a row this will happen. I have to reload half the episodes I watch because the player freezes during the commercial break so I have to reload the page, which again leads to me watching a lot more commercials than I should have to. I didn't have this problem before so it's super annoying.

Finally a new video player in HTML5
been waiting for this, the old player was getting unstable.
Atleast now that you did this in 2018 there is a more well threaded road and path to maintaining it.

Not that problem, internet is 100 mbps and ethernet cable to the box, also when you check the progress bar it's always well ahead when it stutters. Never had any problems til the last few weeks, got to be the player.

This. A thousand times this. I had this problem with the Flash player and it's what drove me to use the third party plugin. It's infuriating to experience this in the new player. If this doesn't get solved, it's going to irritate someone into making a new plugin and you bet your butt I'm going to use it even if it clears out the ads entirely.

This is not an issue other ad-supported streaming sites have forced upon me. I watch quite a few and I have my ad blocker off. This is a process I have come to completely associate with Crunchyroll and E-FRELLING-GADS does it make pirating more appealing! I don't know if it's the new player or an old ad system, but please fix it!

Is it just me or is anyone else having playback issues with the new player? I don't see it as much on newer animes, but on the older shows the playback keeps crashing and I get an ugly green screen with the text "The media playback was aborted due to a corruption problem or because the media used features your browser did not support." Usually, I can just refresh the page and the show will play again, but today I've had this crash about a dozen times so far trying to get through Episode 24 of Bleach.
