This is a good update Crunchyroll, thanks for it. I especially like how changing video quality no longer has an impact on audio quality, that's something that had bothered me for a long while.

I had this exact problem for a bit. Just a heads up, the new player seems to have changed the way video quality is done. what used to be 480p now looks/loads like 720p, 360p is now like 480p, 240p is like 360p, and so on. Try lowering your video quality to 240p, then up it to 360p if it loads well.

YES, It's looking sharper and also using a lot more CPU at the same quality setting as before.

New player works with seamonkey browser but there are no subs, oh well. works Ok with waterfox.

FAR nicer controls THANK YOU.

BUT.....

BIG pause buttons in the middle of the screen are NOT GOOD. I mean, why? Why even have that?
We know that clicking on the screen will play or pause. Everybody knows that, we don't need a big sigh there to remind us. Make it invisble or something.

the new update seems a little buggy I didn't mind it at first but ir freezes a lot more and the um not sure what its called but the build up before what your watching doesn't always load? the white bar that stays infront of the orange so when the show freezes and I pause to let some build up I cant see the white bar until I hit play again??? and it drops quality a lot more often all that in just 3 episodes.... >.< I don't mind the update or new aesthetics if its what crunchyroll likes but um can you get rid of the bugs? >.< im using Microsoft edge I had seen users complain about edge but ive never had a problem until now edge already uses quite a lot of processing, CPU and ram so upping the usage hurts a bit im running 24gb ram 2 5 terrabite harddrives and a 6core processor streaming a video shouldn't be maxing out my usage even with the other tiny background processes edge plus new crunchyroll update is maxing it out??

also for some reason the pause/play thing that's supposed to appear when you click the video or maybe move your mouse is bugging out I have to move my mouse either to the X spot in the top right or down to cause my task bar to appear which I have set to auto hide to get the play/pause to stop flashing on and off while the video is playing looks like some feed might be getting looped?

Not sure whether It's because of the new player or not but my queue has stopped updating whenever I watch through the website.

When I select 1080p on the new player, it displays in 720p. To watch in 1080p, I have to select 720p or 480p.

I've switched to Chrome from Firefox, but I'm finding my queue isn't updating videos as played now.

Definitely not a fan of this player.

Wish we could pick which player we want, this player so far is not good. If I want to rewatch a scene I often have to refresh the whole page and at the beginning it takes awhile to load. Really?

I tried to do the cookie trick to get the old player back several times and keep coming back to this new player.

Why is it so SLOW? I've spent half an hour watching half an episode at 240p and it just keeps freezing to load every minute or less of show time. On the old player I'd set it to 240 and wouldn't get any interruptions, just proper streaming.

Whats going on with these players one is good the other it garbage, slow to load, have to refresh the page to watch back more than a minute or the video gets stuck loading, the video quality seems to be one up from what you select such as 360p is 480p and the buffing on any quality is horrendous. Why does the player keeps changing back and forth and the cookie trick doesn't work and was a stupid idea in the first place let us choose which one we want to use?

Is anyone else not getting their view history updated? Both after I've watched an episode, it's not showing up. Or if the player freezes up, and I have to refresh page, the show doesn't pick up near where I left off and restarts entirely from the beginning.

How long do we need to wait for this dumb new player to work? The subtitles and all the other stuff people have mentioned. Is this it? Has staff even said anything that they're gonna fix it?
