@somedue. Its the white skin and big round eyes and different coloured hair and eyes i guess?
Blonde hair and blue eyes for example.

Well, lots of Japanese people are pretty fair-skinned. Others aren't, but they're not gonna make themselves literally yellow Simpsons-style, or do the squinty eye thing like the propaganda cartoons used to do. Those are both pretty superficial things at the end of the day anyway.

For the hair and eyes stuff, well there's hair dyes and contact lenses for a reason xD. And most characters like that, we're never told if it's natural or dyes/lenses nor does that really matter when they have Japanese names. But if there name's like Rudolph Evergreen or something then I'd assume they're white.

Aye, the variety of colors is just to literaly make the characters more colorful, and not usually intended to reflect race.

Unless they're blonde of course, in which case they're probably half Japanese and half European or American.

Or Yankees. A Japanese kid dying their hair blonde tends to get alot of shit in anime, with the expectation that they're a punk.

Yeah, but not just more colorful; it's often also to denote personalities i.e redhead being either feisty or romantic, black hair kinda sulking or emo'ish etc. But it also depends on hairstyle.

That *may* be the case if they're blonde, but yeah, really comes down to how the character's written. Like, I'm one of those sorts that always assumed Naruto was Japanese, but it's not far-fetched if the 4th Hokage was some sort of European.

I'm don't think he was either. I don't think Naruto took place in a world where Japan and Europe even existed.

Yeah you're right, it's pretty much all fictional setting, I just meant more in terms of being some type of Caucasian. Like how guys like Killer Bee and Darui I assume have some type of African lineage, even if places like that and Europe don't actually exist in the series the way we know them.

Then again, those dudes could do crazy jutsu shit, for all we know things like hair and eye color were side effects of their powers if anything.

Yeah i was only saying "you could argue that many anime characters look white" I remember many years back when i used to buy hentai on VHS imported from America there was actually a little, i guess you could it educational or explanatory clip before the title and it went into the large eyes, the different hair colours, the high pitch voices, i think the school uniforms, etc i forget.
It said the hair colours were used to distinct the characters and what not.

Anyway;

There is bad diversity but there is also good diversity

Yeah we still had black and white tvs in the 70's lol but one of my friends had one when i was in my early teens in the 90's. Our internet now is probably as slow as dial up compared to yours as well.
And movies would come out here fucking ages after they did for you guys also.
Admittedly though, i was slow to adapt. I was still buying VHS tapes well after dvds were out. I even still bought some hip hop albums on cassette after cd's were out.
And i was very slow getting a PC and getting on line. I was very slow getting a mobile phone too. And i had the same phone with a tiny black and white screen and shit camera and no storage space for ages. You couldn't even plug it in to a pc to get the photos off lol or play music on it.
I had a commodore 64 for a long time before i got my first gaming console as well ^^;

My first car had no power steering or electric windows. I still use cds' I play cd's in my current car. I was slow to get on FaceBook and i've never used twitter. I think i was slow to know what an SMS was also.

So not only was/is(but not like it was) our country slow and behind, i was slow to get onto the new technology even after our slow as fuck and behind country got it. I think it was partially a sentimental thing though? or just being stuck in my ways.
I never thought i'd be PC master race, once upon a time. lol.
