Anime Fan Documentary Series

We’re looking for powerful anime stories from fans to profile for a documentary series on Crunchyroll!

Are you currently in a career or study in which you regularly apply lessons from your favorite anime?

Are you a member of a community not traditionally represented in popular anime?

Are you an active participant in the anime fan community (as an artist, con volunteer/organizer, anime club host, cosplayer, fanfic author)?

Has your passion for anime connected you to others who have shaped your life? Or has anime changed your relationship positively with someone important to you?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, we want to hear from you!

To share your story or nominate someone, submit this form (or email [email protected]) with the following information:

I think they forgot their most important question: "Are you a famous celebrity, athlete, or public figure?"

Here is a story. There was this great site with anime that i subscribed to because they were spending most of that money for Anime so i was supporting creators. Then they started to make their own series that no one asked for. I for sure know i didn't and anime catalogue is getting thinner every season. We don't need this. Get more anime.

You're right @Mithguar.

And they losing a lot of the money for PR bullshit (youtube, documentary, expo, Anime Awards etc.). I think they should work on regional limitations, anime translation in different languages, not the number of women in the american animation industry.

I thought Crunchyroll is ANIME (JAPANESE animation/cartoon) streaming service, not selected american otaku youtube-like service.

I actually don't mind them spending money on the Anime Awards and Expos, a documentary sounds pretty fun as well. Though I personally also share your grudge over that first original series (that in my view seemed to broadcast an illegal hiring process), however I also believe the company should be allowed to make innovation into new ideas (exceptions for illegal actions of course, if confirmed).

Regardless it would be interesting to have them give us an approximately percentage over what part of subscription money goes to general upkeep, what goes back to the industry and what goes into innovative idea. Also to show what amount of income in % they get from subs contra investors (then we can get a better understand if they get pressured by outside investors). I think a lot of "rage" would vanish if they went public with such info as it removes unknowns, as many people might think that 90% of all income goes into new projects they disagree with, which probably isn't the case at all.

To bring a bit of reality to the topic...can't we leave the running of the company to, you know, the people who actually run the company? Let's not assume that we know how to run the business better than the people actually working there. Everyone is, of course, welcome to state their opinions, but I'm sure there are valid reasons for everything they do, and most companies can't reveal that kind of insider information.

What's all the fuss about? I didn't realize that they had stopped streaming new Anime... Oh, wait. Nope. Just checked. Whole new season available. Hundreds of series available. Simulcasts. Same price.
