Hello Crunchyroll fellow memebers and technicians. Honesly the new player is working well for me on my laptop. The last version was as smooth with starts ups and times skips. for me personally. But on the other side of things it seems after the new players was installed the crunchyroll app on my PS4 is very chippy now. The audio and very are out of sync. Im not sure if your going to update that players as well.

TO MY FELLOW MEMBERS IS THE PS4 CRUNCHYROLL PLAYER GIVING YOU PROBLEMS ALSO?

For me, the new player is loading episode slowly. It lags and some episodes never finish loading. I never had that problem with the old player, but other than that, I like the new player.

I hate auto quality. I hate it on Youtube, and I hate it on the new video player. When I select a quality I want that to remain constant. I do not want my resolution suddenly dropping after an ad, nor do I like using up more data just because my bandwidth can handle 1080. I don't go over my monthly cap when I watch at 480. I don't experience any lag or stuttering with 480. And I don't have a problem with how 480 looks. Please get rid of the auto quality and just let me set all videos to the quality I want without having to remember to do it every time I start a new episode.

The new player is a disaster. You can't disable auto-play. The playback quality automatically resets to "Auto" with every new video. The caching is badly handled and overwhelms resources on older machines (Dell Venue 11 Pro Core i5 with 4GBs of RAM running Windows 10). It skips and stutters and, every once in a while, just stops playing.

It would have been far smarter to just integrate the unofficial HTML 5 player that is featured in the Firefox plugin, but is now broken thanks to all this foolishness. Fun.

Is there anyway to change the video quality setting? I live on a farm with finite internet a month and this may be the straw that gets the crunchy roll cancelled. I've been on here since 2013

Perhaps it is because my machine has 16 GB of RAM, or it varies based on location (and thus CDN server), but my Pentium G3258 (Haswell, 2 core, 3.2 GHz) hasn't had any problems thus far.

For the record, I am on a nominally 25 Mbps cable connection, although lately it tests a bit below that (22 Mbps this morning).

I did fool around with my Lenovo laptop a couple of nights ago & got it working sort of okay, the new player did seem to work, at least video wise, the audio volume however was quite low even maxed out, that is likely the machine though (Dolby driver is still broken).

Now as for the old desktop I'm typing on, I'll 2nd the motion for "option to use old player".

You can't anymore. cr pulled the plug on the old player. They won't even allow the user to choose between the old and new player bc cr thinks they know best. The lone response I got from support on this matter was they are now citing "security" concerns.

Ugh, that's ridiculous. Up to 3 weeks ago, if you wanted, you could run a SD simulcast on a 17 year old processor with 256mb of ram or a 5 year old smartphone over a 4g connection.

btw, dId they finally allow people to turn off subtitle?
