This street preacher who travels around preaching the Bible was recently at an anime convention in Toronto. He always draws a crowd wherever he goes. If you were there, would this bother you? Would you engage with him or just ignore him? Have you encountered a street preacher before? Post your thoughts.

I am not ignorant to the existence of these folks. While the presence may bother me, I would likely ignore him rather than engage in any sort of dialogue. Though I imagine his arrogance would offend many denominations of Christians, as reflected in the titles of several of his Youtube video and his overall behavior.

If one is going to engage, at least be civil; don't give credence to his attitudes.

Preaching involves delivering some sort of religious message or teaching.

This guy is just an asshole with a megaphone that relies on trying to insult and offend people till they engage him so he can yell at them.

Just ignore them, then they won't exist.

There's a difference between ignoring an asshole, and ignoring a problem.

The problem is when it turns into a protest with hundreds of people.

"some of you are masturbating to cartoons... That's how sick our society has become".

He's not wrong on that point.

Obviously doesn't know animé, though, as all the super heroes he cites are Marvel and DC comic characters

Yeah, clearly society needs more men beating off to more semi-exploitative forms of porn, or better yet pursuing women as their only means of sexual release.

As someone who lives in an area where there are a lot of indoctrinating cultists about if they keep harassing me I usually start talking about how I dabble in dark/blood magic and if they would have room for something like me in their group.

I've encountered them here and there it's no big deal. I've encountered them the most with my few visits to New Orleans in the states. I don't engage with them, I ignore them and they tend to avoid me. I look "their religion" so they don't really consider me a threat. and why would I want to bother, let alone waste my time engaging with them. I am antisocial by default, the less human interaction is always a good thing. not to mention, they could be crazy/unstable and then I'd have to endure their "preaching" about things I don't believe in.

That's not preaching; it's harassment. Yeah, it'd annoy me, but conventions are so noisy that I may not notice, and I'd have better things to do than be engrossed in a side show.

The whole "i must sex or die" is a myth. Look at how a cat in heat is absolutely consumed. Not even they are subject to the principle which you presume.

"There is no dignity when the human dimension is eliminated from the person. In short, the problem with pornography is not that it shows too much of the person, but that it shows far too little."

So I'd say he is wrong on that point.

Wait.

Is that not cool anymore? I clearly didn't get the memo.
