A major natural disaster resulting in horrific death toll. I hope the people trapped can be reached in time. It’s times like this where I don’t mind a high military budget and presence if it means developed countries can reach those affected in time to lessen the impact of disasters on human life.

May the survivors find healing and the fallen find peace.

mother nature sure can be cruel sometimes, prayers to the victims and hopefully the things settle down slightly and people are able to find more survivors than victims. with these quakes also brought some water issues as well, so, let's hope some assistance can arrive from other countries and things be put aside for the time being in order to help these folks.

Fortunately, Trump backed off from his plan to bypass Congress and cut foreign aid after universal backlash from, well, pretty much the rest of the government and the military. Though he still seems stuck on the idea given he threatened the UN so who knows. Cutting funding to any of the US's development, disaster and health programs overseas would be disastrous.
