^^^Yea, you think they would be scared and panicked, hiding and confused. In shock, unable to move. Various mental states.

But o wait, it's anime, so any attempt to ascertain rational logic on it is but "trolling". Yes. I just a bad troll. Shame on me.

...And the reason 7+ billion humans on this Earth aren't running out to watch this instant-classic, #1 motion picture of all time, is? Hell, all current anime fans? Crunchyroll users???.........

"Old age", I guess. Must be something. A "meta-anime" logic here, long story. I digress, indeed.

In either case, I will just leave in closing with such: I believe me /walloftext above sums up appropriately my case, do with it what you will. No need to extend further... carry on with the kawaii~~ lovefest below...

I don't see you as trolling. Disliking something about an anime and complaining about it isn't trolling. It does make for good discussion and conversation. (I'm bad with words so don't expect good discussion from me. I do try though, was never good at it, even outside the internet.)

There's always a fair amount of dislike during the first few episodes of a show anyway.

I've always been of the mind that you don't go to McDonalds looking for Filet Mignon, and you don't watch anime expecting Citizen Kane.

Isekai is obviously overdone, and I don't understand why the stories can't just be normal high fantasy (like Goblin Slayer is apparently going to be). However, I have enjoyed some of them like How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, while others like Master of Ragnarok have been self-indulgent and insipid trash.

It's hard to find a good balance between edgy and irreverent.

Should I.....watch it now or wait until there's a few more episodes, like I normally do new series? You guys are making it sound good, I'm anxious.

If you normally wait for a few episodes to come out, I'd do that. In the end it is up to what you want to do. (The waiting for the next episode is the worst part when it's something you end up liking.)

That was fun. The production was great, I like the small touches like the expressions coming out of the slime, and the dragon laughing differently in the left speaker and right speaker at the same time. I hope it keeps it up.

And, "bored"? A "normal" human, post-death, would probably spend a long time in self-pity, grievance, the like, for just being killed. PTSD, the sorts. Sadness over not being able to see family/friends again. Like ghosts, perhaps. Whatever. Something that would carry through the entirety of the anime series.

Yet, "anime logic"... slimeboy is happy as a daisy. No emotions, there, just bouncy bouncy. Like it never even happened.

^^^^This anime....

No matter, as it seems that my observations are repeating themselves. Hopefully somebody out there in "Internetland" gets it. Or, not....

There's a timeskip. He says "I think it's been a fairly long time since then." From this most viewers would be able to infer that quite some time has passed and he has most likely gone through quite a bit of thinking.

It is certainly overly fast pacing for the sake of exposition, but nothing actually going against your views on how a human should react in this extremely hypothetical situation.

Anyway, as for my own opinion I think the production value was way higher than I had expected, and am looking forward to what actually might be an enjoyable isekai for once.

His skill "Predator" did bother me though because, and I found out after wards that it is in fact called "Devour" in the novels, when he wishes for going after all the girls he see it sounded to me like he used some sort of metaphor involving the word that literally means "eat" (or perhaps "devour") and imo they should've made the effort to translate his dying words as something ala "if I'm reincarnated I'm gonna go after all the girls I see, gonna act like it's an all-you-can-eat-buffet", making the acquisition of his skill, and the nature of it, more obvious. Only nitpicking but it would've perhaps, if not cleared it up, then not added to the whole harem-confusion as well.

I think the take-away from this first episode is when you're dying make sure to make a lot of crazy requests for powers. You never know!

Or just keep your inner-monologue going as long as possible, and hope some higher power misinterprets those thoughts as requests for powers

Ah yes. Quasi-intellectual discussion about slimes.

God I love the internet and anime fandoms

I wonder if anyone realized that this episode aired on the same day the heroes on Black Clover battled a slime snail?

It seemed like with all those "buffs" the slime kept getting, he is already overpowered.

I suspect those 'buffs' are what made him a slime, they were all basic slime abilities. Slimes are scary powerful, especially when you wander into one in a dark hallway..

They get a bad wrap in video games as weak low level monsters, but it's not true at all.

So, I suppose he'll have to eat a human for his transformation power to kick in and allow him to mimic a human?

Probably something like that. Maybe a corpse, maybe a golem.
