I suspect those 'buffs' are what made him a slime, they were all basic slime abilities. Slimes are scary powerful, especially when you wander into one in a dark hallway..

They get a bad wrap in video games as weak low level monsters, but it's not true at all.

Have you seen metal slimes in Dragon quest? those things are unkillable!

Ep 1

WELL! that was a butt load of fun, I expected coming into this and being meh, but i was smiling pretty much through it. I enjoyed this take on a isekai...hmm so I guess the ED is a spoiler? he becomes a blue head girl and can change back and forth b/w being a slime and a girl? The girl VA makes sense now.

Hmm I take that back he looks more like a fem boi, shota like.

And, "bored"? A "normal" human, post-death, would probably spend a long time in self-pity, grievance, the like, for just being killed. PTSD, the sorts. Sadness over not being able to see family/friends again. Like ghosts, perhaps. Whatever. Something that would carry through the entirety of the anime series.

Maybe for a couple of days. This guy's a workaholic with no family he was taking care of. And apparently enough of a gamer nerd to have an idea what was going on.

Or hell even if you assume you're in a coma having a funky dream, or in purgatory, you're still going to try doing something.

Heard hype about this long before I heard an anime was coming. It's probably what is keeping me interested though. Some people thought this was fast pace? MC dies in a ridiculous way (seriously what kind of half-assed murderer was that?), eats things in a cave while some exposition happens, and then he meets a dragon. The End. I'm simplifying a lot of details out, but come on.

I enjoyed the humor of tsunderagon and just how ridiculous that framing/plot device murder was, but for an episode one that was really bland still. The show obviously wasn't taking itself seriously, but it didn't seem to be having much fun either. It was all just setting up and there's been more or less just two and a half characters that might be relevant. (I have no idea if Great Sage can be considered a character. ) It's episode 1, guys. Get a little crazy!

I guess from what I hear I can expect selling points next week. I'm sure it's trying to follow source material, but I'm not sure that's the best way to adapt things all the time.

Should I.....watch it now or wait until there's a few more episodes, like I normally do new series? You guys are making it sound good, I'm anxious.

I'm usually someone to hold off and binge most shows. For personal enjoyment I'd say it's the best way. However, If you're looking to enjoy a show more than personally (that is socially,) then you should definitely watch weekly so you can talk about it when others are most interested.

If I'm reincarnated with special skills due to my last dying thoughts I'd probably be more messed up than just turning into just some slime monster. I thought the perversion skill was a funny add on since he's a declared 37-year-old virgin. When he was dying he literally was like I'm going to @!%& everything I see in my next lifetime. Too bad slime boy.

Looking forward to this one! The visuals as he was dying were a little over the top, but I really enjoyed it. One could argue that his virginity is, um, consequential, very VERY consequential; can’t wait till Milim asks to be his friend “best friends forever” ....or

Ok, as someone who has read all of the currently translated material sans the Web Novel(though I'm still familiar with EVERYTHING that goes on to where that's at right now) I feel as though I'm as good as any authority on the show to explain things to the good people on here.

1. The WW2 scene pleased me a GREAT DEAL since I was not expecting them to actually do that characters back story as it's not really fleshed out in the manga compared to the Light Novel where that story gets told as intermission chapters between the main chapters(the last chapter of which leads to the present situation).

2. No there's no harem and the ecchi is kept to a reasonable minimum. Pretty much EVERYBODY loves him for reasons that get explained later. He's just a cute slime who's not bad so please don't hurt him(yes he does use the Dragon Quest line and yes it actually has significance in a big way). There some moments of ecchi such as the boob pillow stuff that a previous user mentioned and a hostess bar scene, but those are really about it.

3. The info dumps while somewhat tedious were necessary to explain the mechanics of his main skills along with how to gain them and how certain aspects of the world work in that it really IS a Dog eat Dog world where the weak follow the strong and summoning DO happen and have happened in the past leading to some major changes at times

4. The timeline of the events show is actually a LOT longer than what we saw. The moment from when he reincarnates to when he first hears "Great Sage" is roughly one month of wandering around blind eating random patches of grass as the skill hadn't fully integrated to him and it was another month or so before he ran into Veldora. The voice you hear is also known as "The Voice of the World" and it something akin to the voice of God or Dungeon Master in DnD who states major events have occurred usually in the form of major changes such as new skills learned or evolution. "Great Sage" integrated itself to it so as to better serve Rimuru by being able to communicate with him.

5. Rimuru is only OP relative to his surroundings. His skills are VERY potent individually and near broken when used in conjunction with one another(using the individually yields 1 potion an hour, in conjunction it's 1 potion a minute), but it doesn't make him broken since while unique, he's not the only one with skills like those or even the strongest in the yard and most of his power comes less from his skills being powerful and more from him being smart and clever in how to properly use them to create newer skills and maximize his powers and utilities.

6. Names are VERY important. That will get explained in the next episode.

There's more stuff, but that's it for now. Feel free to throw your questions at me. Oh yeah, the best way to view the series is something akin to a Nippon Ichi game like Disgaea, Makai Kingdom, Tales of, and what not.
