Has Japanese Pop Culture affected how you look at Your Country's Pop Culture?

The way I see it, Japan is concerned about making good entertainment that keeps it's current fan base and works to draw in new ones.
America is more concerned at making sure every single race and sexuality is in all tv shows and the characters political beliefs are immediately known from the point of their introduction.

I love Japanese pop culture. I can't stand American pop-culture at this point....

Canada has nothing good to offer & it's not really what I consume but taking in J culture doesn't change my outlook on Western (American) media at all. Japanese media is just so subpar compared to America, imo, it can't really do much to make me look down on Western pop culture.
