Plot Summary

Puberty Syndrome—a rumored, mysterious syndrome that only affects those in their puberty. For example, a bunny girl suddenly appeared in front of Sakuta Azusagawa. The bunny girl's real identity is Mai Sakurajima, a teenage celebrity who is currently an inactive high school senior. For some reason, her charming figure does not reflect in the eyes of others. In the course of revealing the mystery behind this phenomenon, Sakuta begins to explore his feelings towards Mai. Set in a city where the skies and seas shine, Sakuta unfolds the meaning behind his bizarre encounters on women with the said syndrome.

First episode is now up on Crunchyroll: https://www.crunchyroll.com/rascal-does-not-dream-of-bunny-girl-senpai/episode-1-my-senpai-is-a-bunny-girl-777578

It will also go up on Funimation and Hulu, so there are lots of places to watch this.

Episode 1

So it begins with Sakuta meeting Mai in the library dressed up as a bunny girl. She's a celebrity, and she also attends his high school having a hard time balancing work with school. Mai's life has been quite stressful as while work was fun at first, it is taking quite a toll on her. Not to mention, people are seeing her as a celebrity and not a person, which is much worse on her than Sakuta seeing her as a bunny girl. Sakuta also happens to have a scar on his chest. More characters are introduced with Sakuta's sister Kaede, Mai's manager Nanjo, and Sakuta's friend Futaba. Lots of questions have been raised here as to who Mai is exactly seeing that she's famous, yet she's unknown. Pretty interesting start to this.

Hmm, the OP song is okay. Somewhat catchy enough.

So we got a story about a normal guy who is affected by this syndrome. There's some awkward scenes but I think the main selling point of the show so far is the mixture of bizarness and normlacy. There's quite a bit of social commentary that I think is worth noting so far.

Got some of the other characters introduced already from this episode. Definitely going to have to get used to the way Mai and her personality.

I think this has potential.

Episode 1

The first episode we are introduced to Mai Sakurajima who's a famous celebrity and Sakuta Azusagawa who everyone wants to avoid. In the first episode we find out that Mai can't been seen on a certain day and because of that she gets the idea of walking around in a bunny suit. The only person that can see him is Sakuta. This is what Mai has wanted because being a celebrity was fun at firs but soon got tired as everyone notices her right away. The down side is that on that day she can't get people to sell her food where Sakuta comes in. Being the only person that can see her he helps her out by buying her something to eat. We also find out the reason why Sakuta doesn't have any friends and that's because he sent some kids to the hospital after a fight. The thing is he doesn't remember that he did it which is why he writes everything down to remember it. The show has a lot of funny parts especially from Sakuta who has a smart mouth.

The first episode basically shows us whats going on between the two and what we can expect in the future as the series goes along. Im really interested in what happened to Sakuta to get that scar? Also to see what other things will happen between him and Mai. Can't wait to watch more of this series.

The show has a very somber attitude going for it, which might make it boring at times. Still, I enjoyed the first episode, and I'm wondering what more will happen with this "puberty syndrome".

The name makes me think this is some kind of comedy like Chio's Schoolroad, but it is not. I like to social commentary part of it. This will probably be my Wednesday anime to watch.

I wasn't too impressed with the description of the show, but when I watched it, it turned out to be pretty good.

(She looked good in that bunny girl outfit, though )

DAMN! Bunny Girl show is good. I was not expecting this at all. I mean it isn't at all what I was expecting it to be. I think this is going to be good!

The title and description had me bracing for cringe but this was....actually pretty decent? The back and forth between these two is entertaining. He's not some halfwit horn dog that faints at the sight of ankle and she's not a shrieking violet over the fact boys exist.

It's weird that a show about an invisible girl that dresses in a Playboy bunny outfit is giving a more down to earth depiction of human interaction than 90% of the "normal" high school anime. -.-

Seems like this might be a romcom, right down my alley of show I wanna see. That line "Are you on your period" and her response thought that was pretty funny. I am getting some SNAFU vibes from this show.

I was going to skip this until I read the forums. A promising start. I like the relationships presented so far. Despite the "unreality" of the premise the characters themselves feel very real. I'm hopeful it can fulfill the promise its start has laid out.

Also, seeing the name of the restaurant since I'm re-watching Black Lagoon I can't help but think of Benny Boy.

The description had me going, "Meh", but after watching the first episode it actually seems pretty good. Not to mention sexy AF female MC and cute bro-con little sister. We have a nice mix of wincest and "would pyon/10."
