Isn't Gungale Online exclusively PvP? Why the angst over PKers in a game designed for PKing?

Also the Village Elder just tying up his daughter like a lamb for slaughter. Even if you are responsible for the village and have no chance against the Integrity Knight, show some freaking balls....

I understand what you're saying, at least give a brief argument like, "But..." to the knight. He has the other villagers to think of and he doesn't want the whole place to descend into disorder by letting one person, who obviously and blatantly broke a taboo, to go free, especially when it's his daughter. How would that look? I can just hear the villagers, "That's blatant favoritism." hehe.

In the end, they were just computer generated characters, but I liked the the immersion. 900 years to cut down the tree, lol. Have at it Kirito.

You know why the family of the President has Secret Service protection? So they can't be used against him. I honestly would never want a leader who willingly sacrificed his own flesh and blood "for the good of the people". To me it shows he is a heartless coward.

I felt Kirito could have parried or dodged the lunge from Johnny Black, instead of doing the risky jab at the thigh - he uses his nerve reflexes in the actual dive games after all. But hey, gotta stick in some drama somehow. Perhaps the sensor is located right where he got jabbed...

Since it is way too early for Kirito to actually die he probably has heart sensor implant to thank for survival (just like you said), like the electro pad did when he was stabbed with the syringe at Asada's. How convenient!

The game system, which obviously checked in and logged the violation, appears to be running in black and white mode morally, which is one reason they are testing it on Kirito and maybe others. I'm sure they are trying to evolve the system. So the computer generated characters are going to act in that black and white manner, at least for now. That's how it looks to me. Although Eugeo seemed to be trying to move forward, maybe he's showing the evolution of the programming there.

So I like how this basically canonizes SAO Fatal Bullet. I.e the Zeliska and Kureha cameo/Itsuki on the BoB ranking list.

I believe during the scene where the characters are looking at the BoB rankings, on a screen behind them is what looks like an ad for Fatal Bullet, implying that not only are the characters are canon, but the actual game itself is as well.

I'm pretty sure there's a PvE aspect to the game. As I recall, that's what LLENN did prior to getting a taste for PKing. (I'll be a little disappointed if we don't get at least some reference to Alternative. Even just a passing mention of a Squad Jam or something)

It also seems implied that there was a little more than just PKing going on with that group.

Which makes me wonder, are we going to get more than just Underworld in this? I don't know much about Alicization, but with the PK group, the mentions of the next BoB, and the OP, it looks like we won't just be getting Kirito's Adventure's in Wonderland. It would be cool, especially if it means a little more of the KiriCrew. Speaking of the KiriCrew...

How the fuck do Asuna, Klein, Silica, and Lisbeth still have avatars that look like them? Shouldn't they have gotten new randomized avatars after switching over to GGO? If you're going to establish a stupid rule, at least fucking stick to it.

One last thing I'm curious about is if this arc will include some reference to Accel World. With Kirito mentioning the time dilation in Underworld, it makes the STL sound like it could be a precursor to Brain Burst.

Ep 1

BOIIIIIIIIIIII , that was effing clean!! That 3d shading particle style they are using is super nice. The OP is high tier ClariS, also that handshake b/w Eu and Kirto, is golden.

Waiting to see more of this AI stuff and world.

Only LAWL dumb parts that had me dead, the made up tech Jargon and the the fact Kirito used the umbrella to stab Jonny's knee and not just smack him for a better deterrent with the umbrellas range.

Clean Start!

So I am only 13 minutes into this episode, but I feel like I am missing something major or I skipped something. I have not watched Ordinal Scale. Should I watch that first before this? After watching the first two SAO seasons I just feel a bit lost atm.

Every time Shinon said Subtilizer I kept hearing "Satellizer" which quite frankly would be an awesome cross-over.

I watched OS earlier today before watching this. It did zilch to help me understand what was going on. The first part of the episode just seemed so out of place imo until further in when what it was got explained a bit.

Best part of the episode was actually watching the opening theme animation at the end, the anticipation from watching that was great.

The episode itself was just okay for me

The studio did ramp up the animation and sound quality for the first episode... Wonder it'd be like that the whole way or not.

Not going to lie, beginning was sorta boring and confusing .Thank god they did the explaining in the cafe and the visuals this episode were really solid. Glad we also got to see some of our other favorite characters appear in cameos.

Very surprised there was little to dislike about the start. They just had to get that double length intro or we would have been upset at the whole meaningless dream world for several episodes probably. With the prequel (if you want to call it that) we kind of get that they have a mission they're aiming for and not some dumb harem builder quest 3.0. It also spares us the drama of people who would have otherwise undoubtedly bashed SAO for being dumb and dropped the show right away.

The show looks great. The new visuals are awesome and refreshing, but it's the art that's so crisp and full of life that I enjoy so far. There's a ton of detail put into it, likely the reason for the butterfly scene at the very beginning. The animation is already off to a great start even though laser blasting dragon riders just does not sit well with me, and hopefully you guys as well. I did notice the VA's sort of changed their tone, with Asuna and Sinon seeming a lot more composed and maybe too rainbowy? Sinon especially went from spicy harem underdog to a pretty normal gal and that kind of bothered me since she was something else in her true form. We were missing a few names here, with Agil and Klein limited yet again to the sideshow with their limited lines. Suguha was missing completely!

The story seems like it's aiming for a long and drawn out full world adventure which might indicate some pointless filler all over the following seasons to come. It also means this is likely to be the deepest of the SAO series, as many are predicting and raving about. The fairy tale vibe we're getting already kind of bothers me, with the princess in distress and harem master somehow ending up in this role yet again. The mention of fairy tales like Alice and Looking Glass has me a bit worried this might get predictable. Reminds me of how the author used the Thor legend to make that one arc for GGO I think it was. The pacing seems relaxed, for now at least. It's something SAO veterans should watch for since they've messed that up consistently in the past. Nothing bad to say from me so far. Is it just me or am I getting Ocarina of Time vibes from the story's unfolding?

Also, being careful around spoilers is a must for the next year minimum. People will jump at any chance to spoil the story especially given the demographic. I'll try my best to avoid the comments section and discussion unless something really interesting happens. During climax scenes especially. I didn't find the story as confusing as it was overly fantasized and very forced.
