Episode 6

So it turns out that Narumi was saved by Guy and taken all the way to America as he suffers from Zonapha. But when he notices that the doctors are getting high on drugs and that the kids are being treated like guinea pigs that Narumi decides to do something about it, especially with the final stage as those kids become immortal and soulless having to live through hell. It's just brutal what is going on, and while Guy has good intentions, unfortunately Zonapha is a menacing disease that causes all sorts of problems.

Definitely an important development episode for Narumi considering he is back and alive. Of course, his arm will never be the same again in that condition.

I think it's interesting to see more focus on his life as one of the main characters. He's surprisingly good with kids despite how he looks. Interestingly, Narumi also realized he gained some new abilities with his arm.

I'm also really curious to see if and when Narumi will reunite with Shirogane and Masaru.

Lots of questions like why does Narumi have the Zonopha syndrome but still lives his life and grow older while kids cant be cured and cant die?

Episode 7
Narumi is such a badass. Holy shit, this guy really doesn't forgive when it comes to defending what he believes in. I respect that.

Glad to see Shirogane back although I have to admit that clown outfit looks a bit weird on her. (maybe it's the makeup or something) Masaru's bravery doesn't surprise me one bit by this point now.

However, I think this episode was more violent than I had thought. Good God, the amount of punishment Shirogane took on her body...crazy.

I have to honestly say. I'm glad to see Vilma joined The Circus. She seemed too honest a character to be dishonest. Now hopefully the Assassins Masaru hired will join the show. I can just see the Assassin's as a cluster of clowns .

Episode 7

Here comes Vilma, and she's definitely been around the wrong people. But Masaru knew who exactly Vilma is, and as such thanks to Shirogane able to take all those hits from her daggers, she's now one of the good guys. Pretty nice resolution to that. Meanwhile, Narumi is such a badass with his new arm, but seeing that the children had to see that, brutal.

Episode 8

Shirogane sure is promoting her circus in a big way. While that's happening, Narumi is battling a bunch of puppets that snuck on-board onto a plane and start a battle midair. And since they are on a plane, that puts Narumi at a huge disadvantage, especially since they self-destruct upon defeat and they are attacking from the outside as well. But Guy is showing just how tough he is as even with all those snapped fingers, he's still fighting. And it just so happens that the plane crashes right in front of the circus. Pretty intense action that those puppets just keep on coming.

To taking a famous quote and tweaking it, I can say that I've had it with these mutha****in' puppets, on this mutha****in' plane! I'm pretty sure Narumi would have said that if he had watched that movie starring Samuel L. Jackson.

Episode 8

Pretty thrilling episode.

It reminded me one of Ushio to Tora's earlier episodes that also took palce on an airplane. Really glad to see Shirogane doing well at circus with her crew.

The part that they talked about her feelings is interesting. While she doesn't have any romantic interest right now, I think it's clear that Narumi is someone she can't forget. I'm curious to see how this show will develop her personality especially since she's showing more and more human emotions.

Episode 9

And now, an episode that explains the backstory of Bai Yin, Bai Jin, and Francine as Bai Yin looks just like Narumi and Francine looks just like Shirogane. The two Chinese brothers ventured all the way to the Czech Republic to learn alchemy. Given the striking resemblance that they have to be ancestors, but these two are the ancestors of Narumi's master. Bai Yin was an alchemist, but everything changed when he met Francine and fell in love with her, but then Jin got jealous and that's when things went south. Pretty interesting backstory that's coming from this regarding the Aqua Vitae as it's no wonder why Narumi got the last of it seeing that he looks like the guy who made it.

Episode 10

I thought this is definitely an important episode considering the amount of background storytelling.

Got info dump about alchemy and also a woman named Francine. There was also a part about a disease that got spread in France. In general, it has ties to the present related to Narumi. As far as I'm concerned, the overall content interconnects with the main story.

Quite interesting actually.

Episode 10

And now, the brothers turn on each as Jin stole Francine from Yin and locking her away in a cell for nine years. Her condition motivated Yin to create the Aqua Vitae, but Francine refused to accept it telling him to give it to someone who needs it more than she does. Francine's death started all this as the Zonapha syndrome was the result of Jin creating Francine's replacement and trying to make her laugh. Yin wanted to get revenge, so he took the name Shirogane and gave Lucille the Aqua Vitae to fight Yin and crush the puppets. Pretty messed up that was with Jin doing all this because of his lust for Francine and jealousy over his brother that just wouldn't go away.

Episode 11

It's off to Africa to square off against Midnight Circus in the desert. Things get quite hectic as to be expected with the way the previous episode ended and the gathering of a large number of shiroganes, and the objective is to take out Francine as with her out of the picture, shiroganes wouldn't have a reason to exist. Those Four Pioneers are formidable foes, and that Olsen guy with a merry-go-round on his head is an especially tough shirogane to deal with. But Merry-go-round Head was no match against Narumi, all while Fatima and Mingxia used a bad situation to their advantage there. The battle is just beginning there, but nevertheless it was a pretty entertaining fight.

One thing about this show that's really interesting is the diverse amount of characters and circuses throughout their world. Not just in the typical Japan/Tokyo setting.

I might have to put that fight down as one of the worst I've seen in quite some time. The Merry-Go-Round concept just doesn't even make sense, and the way it was animated made it look like the thing was spinning slightly faster than a car's wheels at a red light. The way the fight was edited was slightly amusing: character #392 goes off screen towards fight - slashing sounds off camera - everyone is shocked, and then they do it again. It made no sense other than they had no other way to make the participant count match.

Then there's the other "fight" happening at the same time. It might have been worse than the Merry-Go-Round one. Fanservice is fine and all, but when you mix contrived logic for causing it, it just doesn't sit right especially given my expectations of this series. That whole fight was more cringe than anything else for me.

For all I know, the joke is on me because the automatons are supposed to make a certain other automaton laugh. However, this is definitely a low point for me in this story.
