And this right here is an example of why I didn't switch to VRV and kept Crunchyroll, Funimation and HiDive as separate subs. Shame to see the libaries getting a bit more fragmented, though hopefully we have a list of affected shows soon.

I don't like that I am losing a lot of shows, but I am also glad, Crunchyroll hasn't evolved much, maybe with the competition of Funimation they will step up their product. Maybe have a poll to see what shows users want to be licensed for a season and throw everything you have into getting the top X % of them if not all.

"a list of select catalog titles licensed via Funimation will be leaving Crunchyroll "

Ok, and which ones are they? Or are you just going to remove them from our Queues and hope we don't notice as per usual?

"That list is currently being finalized between both parties, and we will share impacted titles with you as available."

Ah, so we'll need to binge 30 shows in 1 week, got it.

Does this mean the entire show will be removed, like My Hero Academia or will just the dubbed English versions be removed while the subbed versions will remain?

I've already taken screenshots of my queue. I got hip to their stealth removals, I take screenshots every now and then to make sure the count is the same and if something is missing I know what it is.

I doubt you will get any time to binge even a single show. I place my bets on the list coming out the day they remove the shows (if they even release a list). Something along the lines of "sorry but these shows have to go immediately".

Oh well not surprised that there were no rational minds in upper management to comprehend working together is far better than fragmenting the market again.

Easy to figure out which will be pulled, just go through and pick out the Funi titles that have been added and kiss those bye bye from your queues. Offhand from mine I'd say that'd be Prison School, Castle Town Dandelion, Black Lagoon, Show White w/Red Hair, Shimoneta. Seraph of the End, Space Dandy, Freezing, Show By Rock, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Star Blazers, and HS DxD. Most I added here were for rewatching when I'd have sometime so no big loss just trims down the options going forward.

edit addition:
Great now I'll have to skim through Funi's code to strip out their players UI for clean screenshots once I go back to them. Already did it for here and amazon so guess one more to do come 2019 when they have a show I want to watch.

2 very important subbed anime I need to know about are Food Wars and MHA.

If those are gone, I lose a large chunk of the reason I sub to this service/VRV anyway.

I'll keep the service of course, but I will pirate the hell out of shows I can't watch on here before I pay for yet another video service.

Dang, this is bad news to see but nonetheless, the partnership between Funi and CR has been a pleasant experience these past two years.

Any specifics on what titles will be removed from CR's library?

We'll be getting the list to you as soon as we can!

Dubs as they are Funimation property in the whole license scheme will probably be gone. Subs too I'm guessing based on that series anyways. Pretty sure that's how I missed the first season as it aired since it was a Funi only title(?) at the time so didn't bother with it as it didn't show up here as just a sub version.

I have a feeling that my queue is going to end up getting decimated, since a lot of the shows on it right now were there because of the partnership.

It is sad such a partnership is ending. Does the end of the partnership mean that the Funi catalog are going to be removed from VRV?

I really can't see this helping Funimation. Their service is still limited to such a small pool of countries, we're heading back a few years to when people would actually be annoyed to see they licensed anything. But this also must mean they'll have a much smaller list of simuldubs each season since they won't be getting whatever Crunchyroll gets.

At the very least HIDIVE will be getting some recognition through VRV. With the small list of devices you can use it on they'll benefit greatly from the people (like me) waiting for a Roku/PS4 app.

Food Wars (S1 and 2) is licensed by Sentai Filmworks, not Funimation. It won't be affected by this at all. S3 was licensed by Crunchyroll so it's not going anywhere either.

Jeez, and here I've been waiting for Dragonball and Wolf's Rain to be added from Funi's catalog all this time...

I kinda would like a list or something that will indicate what shows will be removed, because I have quite a bit of stuff on my queue and I’m not sure which site will get what

Yeah, I thought it was fishy how Funimation co-licensed SAO:A and SSSS. Gridman.
I don't blame them for the divorce. I blame those at Sony. It was their decision to end the partnership, and the loyal fans are suffering for it.
