Wonder what this means for home video titles like Hybrid x Heart that had a release date announced but was cancelled by Funimation. I assume they'll never be released, especially considering Funi has been pretty much cutting out licensing ecchi shows since they were bought by Sony.

Since CR most likely has the master license they can simply get someone else to distribute it.

I'm more surprised by the fact that you're 17, I thought you were like 30 or older.

You shouldn't be surprised by that. There's a whole religion that stays 17 forever.

Started by Kikuko Inoue, IIRC.

At least I hope CR partners now with HiDive, so those series end up here for simulcasting. I have enough subscriptions with Netflix, Amazon and Crunchyroll.
HiDive currently gets ~5 titles per season. I can deal not watching those. But if we add another ~5 titles from Funimation, the total would be ~10 titles, which is around a third of all anime simulcasts. It would have a major impact on my seasonal anime list.

HiDive will be joining VRV, if you haven't heard yet. No idea if their simulcasts will also be available on CR, though.

Yeah, I know it will replace Funimation's spot on VRV. But I don't plan on subscribing to that service since they only carry English subs.

Funimation is cancer anyway. Focus on getting more anime for south america (well, more anime in general) and everything will be daijobu. They work only for US. You work for the world. Remember that.

I dumped Funimation since their "new" website was terrible and their video player barely worked.

Don't make me even think about going back...

Funimation's sound quality is terrible. I've needed to switch to Sub mid way though episodes because the English audio was so low and there were no English subtitles with English audio.

On the Steins;Gate Movie BluRay, I had to switch to Sub part way though for that reason. I had my TV turned up all the way and still couldn't hear it (and no English subtitles with English audio).

VRV is not even available in Canada and am not about to pay for multiple services, plenty of free option out there.

Here's a small speculated list of dubs what I think Funi is going to lose, I'll update it as I find more anime that I suspect:
Gintama (for sure)
Mob Psycho 100 (for sure)
Twin Star Exorcist (for sure)
The Testament of Sister New Devil (we getting the uncensored dubs?!?!?)
Yamada kun and the seven witches
Joker Games
Kabaneri of Iron Fortress (is it even on Funi?)
Orange
Alderamin of the Sky
91 Days
Magical Girl Raising Project

So? AT&T and Warner Media owns Funimation. They are the ones with the ultimate choice. Funimation could, hypothetically, have never wanted to partner with CR, but if AT&T had decided to go ahead, Funimation would have partnered up anyway.

AT&T owns Warner Media and CR.

Sony owns Funimation.

As someone who has always had separate subs for Crunchy, Funimation, and hidive. I see no real issues with this. Thngs are just going to go back to how they were before 2 years ago. Ill keep all 3 subs and watch my shows on witchever service has them.

amazon has always had exclusive streaming rights to kabaneri, funimation/crunchy only have the dub on home video.
