Plot Summary

When Narumiya Minato joins Prefectural Kazemai High School, he is quickly invited to join the archery club by the club's advisor, Tommy-sensei. His childhood friends Takehaya Seiya and Yamanouchi Ryohei swiftly agree to join, but Minato is hesitant at first. Because Minato is the rare student with experience in archery, Tommy-sensei orders him to give a demonstration, which Minato does... except his arrow doesn't hit the target. It is revealed that Minato has developed a terrible dysfunction regarding archery.

I like the look of this. The poster looks cute and peaceful, and it's probably an emotional show like Free!.

It's coming at 10:45am Pacific, so about 45 minutes from now. Unlike with other shows, Crunchyroll actually gave a premiere time for this.

So about an 1 hour, it sometimes takes shows 10-20 minutes to show up in my queue.

The first episode is now up on Crunchyroll: https://www.crunchyroll.com/tsurune/episode-1-the-young-man-on-the-shooting-range-778234

Episode 1

And it begins a lot like how Free! does with Minato being talented in the sport, but is reluctant to join the archery club. This time, the circumstance is that his mother passed away, and he's taking on extra responsibility at home to fill her shoes. Not to mention, his father is working late. His friend dragged him out and forced him to take up the bow for demonstration, and he shot without any enthusiasm. With KyoAni doing the animation, you know you are going to get high quality artwork, and they delivered on that once again. Anyway, it's a pretty solid start and while it's something I have seen lots of times in sports anime, it sets things up well for a solid story to go down.

Episode 1

Wow, this was really good imo.

The OP song gave me the impression of a Kyoto Animation show with its high quality production. There's a good degree of realism in regards to the character lives and setting. Beyond just the visuals, I like the diverse cast so far. That Nanao guy sure is popular lol

That archery club has quite a lot of members, much more than I had anticipated. I really hope they bring out the best from its most prominent members (like that Seiya guy for instance) This show also has surprisingly good music imo. I'm guessing this is more of a characer drama driven story. Can't wait to learn more about the characters' past too.

Great start.

There doesn't seem to be much here yet for me, but all the basics are well done. The art is KyoAni beautiful and the animation still looks great to me when it needs to be. The opening looks rewatchable and the music composition felt right. We start to get a feel for the characters and it seems like there's some potential depth here. Kyudo and KyoAni seem to be really be putting that art in martial art. (And wow there sure are a lot of spectators for a startup club's opening practice.)

It’s a nice show but I don’t think anyone will watch it because they’ll assume it’s BL. Thanks fujoshits!

I don't have premium. Is anyone willing to discuss these with me a week later?

A young boy finds love when an old man thwips it out in front of everyone. The boy, now an older boy, is attacked by a beardog. After a solemn ceremony, the boy, his beardog walking friend, and a giant are lead astray by an old Tommy seeking to revive an ancient art, but the boy has fallen from the path of his love. The giant lures the boy back to the blooding grounds, but the boy's tepid will breaks his concentration and he flees in distress, only to be lured to a temple where a blue-haired demon master of snowy owls holds the key to reviving the boy's lost love.

This doesn’t sound like what everyone else says this anime is at all...

I wish people would just talk about the anime or answer my question. I’m scared no one will wanna talk to me about this unless I get premium and watch it at the same time as everyone else.

You'll be able to know for sure in a week, then, but it's a pretty standard sports anime about archery that focuses in the first episode on a boy who was passionate about the sport, lost his touch for anime reasons, and can be assumed to regain and surpass his previous passion through anime reasons and friendship. You also have the cool-headed friend, the hot-headed friend, the pretty boy, and the scary competitive boy. There are girls, too, since archery doesn't discriminate, but so far they're just for show.

As was pointed out, I do tend to make sort of sarcastic synopses. They're meant to make sense after you've actually watch it, though. Sorry.

Oh, no. Gornotck is scaring people. How golden. I thought his synopsis was ...nearly as accurate as the lead character.

It's going to be a bit rough if you're watching as a freebie. Maybe posting about something you can binge would go better for you. It might be hard to keep things in context to respond when someone is a week behind, and there's sure to be what would effectively be spoilers for those someones everywhere as well.
