Finally had a chance to check out the first couple of episodes. I have to admit, I came away a little cold on it. Maybe it's because I expected too much but it just fell a little short of what I was anticipating. A show like this sort of requires you to really connect with at least some of the characters and none of them have really interested or impressed me so far. I'll definitely give it more time as, if nothing else, I'm a big fan of archery (never done kyudo, only western style).

Episode 3

Ryohei sure is a responsible guy and a great friend for Minato. He definitely loves archery seeing that he's going everything he can to make the club better. Nanao is such a tease, while Kacchan is such a jerk. The clubmates sure are great for Minato to be around seeing that they are doing what they can to get him to join, though for Kacchan that might be too much of a stretch. So with that, the archery club is a go now that they have the members to make it happen. Pretty nice to see the other clubmates getting the focus going to show that Minato can get along with these guys to get him to take up the bow again.

Ooh, that surprise at the end.

I hope Minato succeeds to be honest. The archery club has potential with its current roster. I think it's important to see what they can do with them to make something great happen.

I'm glad this show has no surprises or twists. Just straightforward boys thwipping it out.

Well, sometimes they need to help eachother thwipping it out. Sometimes thwipping is a group effort.

Thought it was a bit rich of Seiya to say he doesn't want to drag Minato back against his will, when he kept pushing for him to join.
Other than that, glad to see Minato get some resolve, and for Onogi to pipe down a little.

I suppose I should have expected mysterious bishounen to come back as a coach, but it also seems that Minato's teammate, from when he started to develop target panic, is back as the main rival but in another school.

It's nice to see Ryouhei do something to try to help Minato overcome his target panic. Ya Kacchan is a tsundere. Yes Masa-san is their coach!

I find in some way this gets to me without seeming to try. Like how the little things in life can become so meaningful both for good and bad, that can at times make for a very effective story for being so relatable. I really look forward to seeing Minato overcoming his target panic (I hope) with the help of his friends and teammates, and yes, new coach.

This show is part of the reason why I subbed to CR for this season. I'm just a sucker for shows with people just being passionate about something, that's all I need.

Episode 3

I liked this show since episode 1 and I am loving it. They are slowly developing the characters and would love to see how this progress.

Ryohei voice is fluctuating in this episode but I guess he is still a growing boy

They finally showed where number 2 archer went to for his High School

Anyway , here is NHK episode on Kyudo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZBbatRRXHU

Archery is such a beautiful sport. The graceful approach to this anime seems to respect that. It's not rushed, not cluttered with unnecessary shenanigans. The serious facial expressions actually reflect complex emotions (which is a nice change from the typical anime-forced expression). It seems like it's the same staff that did Violet Evergarden. Has that same beautiful feel to it.

Well said! (I only very recently started watching anime again since the last time I watched was as a kid, so I'm really interested in more experienced anime watchers' critiques and insights like yours. I appreciate you!)

Episode 4

While the club is up and running, the boys have quite a long way to go, especially after the girls plus two others beat them in that practice match. That got the boys motivated to practice even harder. And then Masaki there at the end, he shows just how graceful he is.

Having Masaki as a coach now really brings an interesting path for the club. He's holding these training sessions that tests the members including this mock tournament.

They definitely need to improve so it's a great opportunity to do so. The buildup for this club maintains a good pacing imo so far. There's still the usual character interactions and small talk to bring out some comedy too. Kaito often gets my attention the most.

Also felt like this episode used its music/OST well. Still one of my favorites this season.

Still not necessarily connecting with this on a deeper level, but still absolutely enjoying it regardless. Just a really solid show.
