Speaks of the devil :D, well yes, that's exactly what I'm thinking.

1. Swaps the chromosomes in every cell in the body
2. Inject progesterone to match the pattern(regeneration)

In that case, you might want to rewrite the question in that context in mind, since it's the stuff of science fiction.

A DNA sample is kinda meaningless.

Assuming you had the ability to grow a clone from the DNA, you'd still need some way to copy and paste the personality and memories into the clone to make it a proper copy (for a sentient being). And you'd need to be able to force-grow the clone.
