Plot Summary

Yukiya, who is "probably" 14 years old, spends his time DJ-ing alone. Due to his father's influence, he's listened to house music since he was young, and he uploads videos online. He wants to convey something to someone. He wants to be recognized, and become important. But getting hurt is scary. One day, while trying to get more views, he does something that can't be undone. And he sees a live broadcast from "that world." Yukiya believes he can't do anything alone, but that he could accomplish something if he were doing it together with someone else.

The first episode is now up on HIDIVE: https://www.hidive.com/stream/wz/s01e001

Episode 1

Never hold hands with anybody. That's an ominous sign of things to come seeing that it was the focal point of a certain other show by this same production team that tanked like hell. The irregular Handshaker, as the MC is nicknamed.

So to being things, it's much like how K does with so many moving parts going on before it gets to the main story at hand, and then the MC getting himself involved in something big. Yukiya is an internet sensation as a DJ, and he's doing whatever he can to get more viewers, but he got a whole lot more than he bargained for entering another dimension and being found out about it that he's being hunted down.

At the very least this is better than Hand Shakers seeing that at the very least nothing cringeworthy happens. Well, it doesn't take much to be better than that train wreck, but at least it has some substance even if not much is given away about the characters aside from the fact that Yukiya is musically-inclined.

Honestly, I thought Handshakers was just okay. It was neither bad nor good to me. This, unfortunately, gives me the same feel. I'll try next episode but, so far, I can't see this as anything different. I'll most likely not even wait out the three episode rule before dumping this one.

Pretty average first episode. I mean, the art style is expected from the same studio that made Hand Shakers. But beyond that, the characters felt flat until they develop them. Well, it's the first episode so there's time to develop the story...

The music element is part of the story so that's something new.

W'z EP # 1 EYE"S Shout

Go Hands Animation is always top notch but they raised the bar again just gorgeous- breathing even if you are used to their style of animation / the SFX tlike he laptop keypad clicking etc

The strory looks interesting

The OST / music is amazing

If Yukiya touches somebody's hands they go to a different world

He wants to go to a well known music academy but his father sternly opposes it

He meets somebody who knows his father / buy wants him to check out Asuka academy anyway

Haruka ( Yukiya classmate ) skips the light band meeting so she can check out the same academy / but she says the music open house is another day

Over a meal Yukiya laments not getting more views but has the idea to use different locations as a backdrop

Yukiya decicides the middle of a busy sidewalk is thev place but wants to use a differnt dimension

Haruka agrees but sees herself in a flash has gravely injured ( maybe dead ) but arrives at stunning scenary

However there are other duos that do battle in this world ( why ?  yet ) and Yukiya has to protect Haruka who doesnt have a weapon

The list of artists for the OST is huge I'll just give the Link 's

GOON TRAX is in charge of the show's music. DJ RENA is credited with video and musical production cooperation. 27 musical artists will also participate in the series. Frontier Works and Go Hands previously stated that the show is targeted toward women.

I never thought that Hand Shakers would get a sequel. But that's ok, i liked it. Yeah, i said it and i'm serious.

Anyway, it was ok for a first episode. If the characters from HS were to appear, i would be pleased.

Episode 2

And it's back to that same room where the MCs of Hand Shakers learned about their powers, as a grown-up Koyori tells Yukiya about his powers of W'z, which he can use to go back to Ziggaraut whenever he wants. Not much else happens here as all it did was make Yukiya aware that people will be coming after him.

So after learning that this is the sequel to Hand Shakers, a fact that I would not have picked up seeing that the title and characters are different, and not to mention Sentai licensed this instead of Funimation, that there's no more reason for me to continue to watch this show that's still bad, though not as bad as its predecessor. Even without knowing that, I probably wouldn't stay with it.

I can't feel the personalities of the characters at all so far lol

Yeah, I think this will be a low quality show for the season. Might just stick around to see where it'll end up.

What do you guys think of the OP?

The singer is in the thing that I'm really obsessed with right now, and this is his debut single (and he's going to be starring in the stage play as well) so I'm just happy for him...

I'm never sure what to do with shows with sequels. Should I wait and watch the previous season(s) first? Or should I just dive in and piece it together as I go? With this show, I didn't make the connection to HandShakers until the end of the first episode. After watching this show's second episode, it was apparent that I do need to watch HandShakers as the main characters from that one is included in this show. Looked on Crunchyroll and saw they have it. I'll have to catch up there and then come back to this series and give it another look. Could make it better, could be the same, but I think this show will make more sense to me after I do this.
