I've heard the hype about the manga, but yikes is this ever dark.

DO NOT WANT!!!

This is one of those shows everyone will be talking about, but do I really want to put myself through that depression.

I wish it was a little more subtle at the start. It hinted towards the end of the episode and something else a touch too hard. Otherwise everything else is 10/10. I actually really loved some of the other small changes they made (although I could have sworn the bunny had a name). Phil (the smol kid with black hair and blue eyes who likes trains) look glorious in animation. I can't wait to see more Phil in action.

I think the manga moved at the same pace. They revealed all this information in the first chapter, it has been a while since I read the beginning though.

Before the first episode, just from seeing preview images for this anime, I thought Emma was a boy. I still thought she was a boy even though she was wearing a skirt up until her gender was mentioned.

It's a little different. However, I'm more concerned about the way a certain character is acting. Things click in the manga when it's revealed, but in this it seems just too obvious. Manga spoilers ahead.

E1

Before How to serve humans

Sadly, I read the synopsis when my colleague mentioned it to me, but I love this kind of shit.
I know it's a style, but their faces being raised/squashed towards the center makes them look derpy at times.

That flower seemed to be important in rendering Connie immobile.

I'm cautiously looking forward to how the kids can stratesize their way out of this - I hope it is believable, given how little they know about the outside.

Been reading the manga since day one and absolutely loved it! Was happy with the adaptation here so far, even if they made quite a few tweaks and rearranged a lot of dialogue to different points in the episode.

If this really is just going to be one cour, then I'm incredibly concerned about the pacing for the rest of the show. I've heard the series will cover the entire first arc, meaning they're going to have to move at a a blistering pace to cover the rest of it in the remaining episodes. I really hope it doesn't end up rushed and abridged to the point where it hurts the material.

Also, has anyone figured out the meaning of the title yet? I don't recognise it as anyone's number...

The one tiny cut they made that bugged me was Emma being worried for Isabella before finding out she was in on it. Jumping straight to the reveal made it feel like it lost some impact.

Yeah, It's a psychological horror with strong elements of cat and mouse, it's well written, but I feel exactly the same way.

Enjoyed this first episode so far.

And damn, minus the discovery and the truck scene, this IS eerily similar to "The Thief of Always". But since I grew up loving that book + I see a difference as to where this series is heading, I'll continue watching. XD
