Mmmmm well personally I know I won't eat children unless they are free range either, don't really care how smart they are though :d
Balls, figured a twist was coming, but that was not the one I was expecting. This should be awesome, almost like a battle royale but kids vs adults.

IT'S FINALLY HERE!!!!! *ahem*.

Y'all ever start something you just know is gonna be, well, the next big thing. Like you begin something and can just feel that it's got that "it factor" so to speak. This is that same thing.

Read the manga so I knew what the twist as going on but woooooaaaahhhhhhh doggie. Seeing it animated with that incredible music and direction and framing and acting and everything added a whole nother layer of epic.

Safe to say that was stunning to watch unfold. Chills. Chills multiple times. the production in through the roof. Cloverworks how I love thee. Stunning to look at and the adaptation was amazing. Emma, Ray, and Norman were all represented well from page to screen.

Really enjoyed this first episode! The art, animation, and OST were all very good, and same with the OP and ED. I had heard a lot about how great the manga was, but I didn't read it in hopes that the anime adaptation was good, and I think it's delivering so far. Can't wait for the next episode!

I've seen a lot of praise for the manga so my expectations are a little higher than usual. This first episode was pretty good, I like the concept. I'm always fond of stories where humans aren't on top of the food chain. As long as there isn't that many ass pulls, this series is looking interesting.

Loving the OP and ED Started watching this because of how good the manga apparently is. I somewhat knew that Conny was gonna get killed BUT I DID NOT EXPECT THAT.... WHAT THE FUCK. That last scene from Mama gave me straight goose bumps.

Will The Promised Neverland quality stay consistent and finally break the "animation quality dips after the the first episode" curse???

Stay tuned to find out next week!

Jokes aside, this first episode gave me the same chill to my spine when I first saw the twist in the manga. The eerie music and the crazy attention to detail to Emma's and Norman's horrified reaction was nice.

And my god, does it feel good to see that noitaminA intro on Crunchyroll again. Haven't seen that shit since (I think) Erased in Winter 2016.

Are people giving the series 1 star because they can’t watch it in their country?

That is dumb. Report the reviews that have nothing to do with the show itself.

I have not read the manga for this, so I didn't know what to expect. It was really shocking and different to have the "twist" be revealed in the first episode. Stoked for the next episode. Seems kind of hopeless for the kids - if the situation is how it seems, what kind of world is outside for escaping to?

I came into this series with no idea what to expect.

I finished episode one with my emotions stabbed in the chest with a flower.

Though I will say with all the flags being tossed merrily about I can't honestly say I was surprised. I hope the series will have more to offer than pure shock because once that tone's been set subsequent efforts at shock lose all value. (See Made In Abyss)

That flower seemed to be important in rendering Connie immobile.

I wish this clip wasn't the dubbed, but I think the 3rd fact answers your question.
