It's likely that the more intelligent you are the more developed brains you have. You could compare it to our food industry, eggs for example. The better you treat the chickens the bigger the eggs are and they also taste better.

I'm going to have trouble if they stop keeping it one day = one episode, but if they keep the dates in the titles should be OK.

Episode 1 was October 12 2045, this was only 10 13 45. Good thing they're natural actors

2045 seems a bit aggressive for a dystopian future, implying aliens beat the crap out of humanity and totally took over pretty quickly. Unless this is an alternate Earth/timeline.

So well-developed brains are tasty and all, but another thought passed my own brain as he was explaining why 12 years old... They have to get these children from somewhere, right? 12 years isn't unusual for the onset of puberty, making them candidates for breeding.

It really does well with creating that atmosphere of fear. Man, I hate having to wait a week for each episode. (I'm aware there's the manga, but I can't be bothered XD)

Also, that depth of field effect.. really good quality art.

Well newborn baby's brains weigh @ 3/4 lb and adult brains weigh @ 3 lbs so you figure by 12 kids brains are probably already adult size and smarter people usually do have heavier brains, or maybe since smarter people have more connections maybe they're fattier(the brain is the fattest organ, it's 60% fat), like a good steak that is more marbled tastes better maybe so do brains. Don't think I've ever eaten any brain so couldn't tell ya.

I think it simply is a brand thing. Kids who perform well on tests will probably have a brain that is quite similar to someone who performs subpar on them. But I guess people/aliens would pay more for brains of high performing kids because they assume that is has some effect on the taste or structure.

If they're interested in brains only, this is probably cheaper, and you can even get it 2-day via Amazon. It's a real thing, too. Now I got a feeling my Amazon recommendations are gonna start getting weird.

Maybe the chemical changes that come with the onset of puberty ruin the taste.

Yeah, people do eat brains. If I remember correctly my parents ate sheep brain (they grew up in the countryside quite a few decades ago). Don't think there still are people who eat human brains though. There might be in an isolated tribe near New Guinea.

I think those people were convinced to stop eating human brains (they practiced funeral cannibalism) because they were getting wiped out by a nasty prion disease, which is one of the risks of eating any kind of brains.
