Fill in the blanks and send it to production. >.>

It's adapted from a light novel series that's been running since 2014.

I want to enjoy this show and probably will if it's any good... but I can't help asking the question:

Wouldn't it be easier to just make the plane automated instead of a whole separate humanoid robot to pilot it?

also why do they all have be girls? oh Japan.

Gonna have a feminist rant about anime culture or something?

Huh? why?

Pretty generic. The battle scene was nice. I'm not expecting anything that great.

Was looking forward to hearing Yuka Morishima's (Run Girls, Run) role as Gripen, but she said like three words.
Maybe next week.

Oh please another female whining about how anime can be targeted at men... boo hoo. Don't like it don't watch it.

You know it really has nothing to do with my being female, rather with me wanting things to have bare minimum of sense. And yeah, if anime as a whole is only targeted at men, and young immature men at that, that is stupid and lacking imagination since the watching demographic is a lot broader than that. But then from the last part of your response that description might fit you perfectly- and be careful with that argument- I'm sure I have seen you complain over various animes for tropes of other kinds, and should you ever do so again, one could be tempted to quote you back to yourself every time you do.

go and watch other anime.. this one is targeted at men ... go watch something else. seriously if you don't like it don't complain. Bare minimum of sense...... your talking about anime.. when has anything in anime ever made sense? called anime logic for a reason. What tropes have i complained about? i don't like yaoi and yuri and generally don't watch it because i find it cringy..... pretty much the only one i have ever complained about.

Cobaltseas originally made a single comment where they rather politely pointed out that the premise of this show is poorly thought out and it probably would have ended with that if you hadn't rabidly pounce on it. You're the one who is throwing a childish and inappropriate fit here. Seriously, how old are you? Because if you are anywhere past grade school you should be absolutely ashamed of yourself for behaving like this and this coming from a bonafide internet asshole.

I hear getting the certification for that is actually pretty difficult.

Getting it notarized is the hard part.

Girly Air Force EP # 1 Crimson Wings

First I like the close accuracy of the lifeboats / ships weapons / black ops etc

Second reminds me of Strike Witches / Zai are like the Neuroi / also Arpeggio of Blue Steel with the A.I.'s

Third The action scenes are quite good especially the aerial combar ( dog fights )

A enchanced jet shoots down a Zai then crashes and a passenger in the lifeboat rescues the piolt a girl

Kei and a female / friend escaped China from the Zai and staying at at his grandfathers plae

Kei gets in a fight with Minghua about joining the JASDF / he tries to indentify the fighter that crashed since it had the rising sun but its a Saab JAS 39 Gripen

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_JAS_39_Gripen

By pure luck he see it on a flatbed

Kei goes out at night but is chased by Minghua who is worried because he is the only friend she has

They are taken into custody

Kei is is threatemed to be shot unlees he tees the truth but the ripen reacts violently

It was a ploy beause the Anima A.I. was being stubborn since Kei rescued her

Ending Theme:
"Colorful Wing" by Yūka Morishima, Hitomi Ohwada, & Shiori Izawa Ending Theme:

I just can't find myself caring about the Kei or her boyfriend, Minghua. I wasn't thrilled by the introduction of Codename CHERRY BOY in the red Gryphon. The DDR music was out of place.

Your show is bad when a tsundere cat is a better protagonist than any character or combination of characters in your action girlflesh show.

Actually it wasn't my sensible comment that started it all but one by papagolfwhisky (I think it is), that I rather agreed with and could see nothing "feminist" about. But it did set Bludge on an anti-feminist crusade fighting all of us supposed rabid feminists.

Kinda like a combination of Arpeggio of Blue Steel and Darling in the Franxx. When she kisses him I was half expecting her to say "Darling!"

Wait, there's two shows like this in the same season?

Not really; Kotobuki isn't a harem. It's about an all-female squadron defending people from air pirates, in a constructed world resembling our 1940's or maybe 30's. The planes are real Japanese planes from that time. It's CG, but it has some hype because director Tsutomu Mizushima did/does Girls und Panzer, as well as Shirobako, with its memorable anime-within-an-anime about female fighter pilots.

There aren't a lot of anime about female pilots of realistic planes to choose from, though. There's T.T.S. Airbats, Stratos 4, and (less realistic) Idol Defense Force Hummingbird, all from 15-25 years ago.
