Comixology had been recommending this manga to me for a handful of months now but after learning of the adaptation I was like nah I'll just wait and watch that instead of both.

Not that the first episode was the best thing ever or anything but I enjoy stuff like this and decided to pull all 5 of the volumes they had up. I don't usually pull that far ahead but it seems fun and like something that's for me. Plus the prices were good and I didn't know if they would change. Looking forward to how this plays out.

I'm not really a fan of how apparent the different hair colors are. It's going to make a lot of scenes rather funky to believe when they start pretending to be each other. Like they just so happen to be able to dye their hair on the fly in under seconds to pose as someone else?

I cant speak about changing the hair colors but

I dont see a problem ( and is quite common Probally the 2 SOL refernce anime I use for judging ( reference ) other SOL anime their hairstyles / colors are different

Non Non Biyori both the Miyauchi and Koshigaya sisters all are different

Minami-ke and the 3 sisters

I've just done finishing a section that depends on them looking 100% like each other, its the core plot of the MC trying to work out who is actually who when they try to be the same. To top it off they're in a Hotspring Inn so it would be a hell of a lot harder to keep the dyes from fading.

It's a core part of working out who is who, with two girls having stark contrast in tones, it'll make it so much harder to believe that they can look identical.

Itsuki kinda looks like an older version of Tomoyo from When Supernatural Battles Become Commonplace, probably cause both have similar hairstyles and red hair with 2 star clips. Both Kind of act Tsudere towards the MC too.

Not a bad start. The second episode will let me decide. I'm not sure I'm up for yet another harem with a male MC that no girl would fall for having five girls fall for him. And it's not even an issue of a misunderstood MC. He's just a straight-up jerk.

IDK- While amusing on one level, I can't say I really care what happens to any of these characters going forward.

Uesugi Fuutarou is very smart / but keeps to himself because he is poor and some students mock him .

HIs das has money problems after his mom died and sister Raiha who thinks highly of Fuutarou suffers too
That is about to change as he encounters some new students ( all females ) that he going to tutor The catch he has a fight with one the first time they meet

But all of them are quintuplets who transferred to be graduate

A lot of misunderstanding / objections from most of them to Fuutarou

Itsuki the one he had a fight with brings him home after Nino put a sllepin pill in his water But when Ituski meets Raiha she has a change of heart allowing at least Fuutarou to come overb

Apparently there is something Fuutarou doesnt know about besdides the tutoring

Some of the VA's have worked together like Love Lab / Psycho Pass / Railgun just to name a few

Like the songs

Opening Theme:
"Gotōbun no Kimochi" (Quintuplet Feelings) by Nakano-ke no Itsuko

Ending Theme:
"Sign" by Aya Uchida

I don't know if you can say that after a single episode though.

He's obviously shunned at school, his dad apparently is a completely irresponsible person who burdens his children with debt, so he's obviously bitter. In his first encounter with Itsuki, she was rude to him until she thought she could use him to help her study, so it's no wonder they didn't hit it off. I can certainly see why he is anti-social and guarded at school, when everyone either shuns him or when someone shows any interest in him, it's only because they want to use him. It's not much different than the way Sakuta was with Saki Kamisato in Bunny Girl Senpai

The short pink-haired girl and the shoulder length orange haired girl are the only ones who haven't shown signs of being sociopaths. The long pink hair even went to the point of drugging him. So it's not like most of the girls aren't jerks.

It's quite possible that these people with guarded personalities, scared to get close to anyone, or paranoid that anyone who gets close to them is just trying to use them can actually warm up to a caring personality once they understand each other. That seems to be why Itsuki shows some semblance of compassion toward Fuutarou at the end, because she sees that he treats his family well and is trying his best to help his family by becoming their tutor.

In reality they are all spoiled children, their father is quite rich but is not caring them so much and this make them suffer quite a lot. So Itsuki is also jealous of the warmth of the Uesugi family.

In this anime it seemed exclusively pity and not wanting to upset the little sister - maybe it's more nuanced in the source materials?

I like it. Has all my favorite voice actors too. Good shot at my anime of the season.

It also seems like he marries one but we aren’t supposed to know which. Best guess is probably Itsuki, since she’s the first one and the one he has the most connection with. Kind of curious why she gets bad grades if she’s trying for good grades. She can’t be that stupid.

Yotsuba is adorable though, she gets an A for effort. She’d probably be the best for Itsuki, even out his personality. Opposites usually attract because it’s usually a lot more calming having your weaknesses covered rather than simply doubling down on your strengths.

Interesting and cute first episode. It gave us a quick run-down on each of the sisters' personalities, and a peek in to the life of Uesugi & why he is the way he is. It will be fun to see how things turn out between all six characters, and what kinda crazy shenanigans they'll face each week

TG my friend, when life gives you quintuplets, you make a harem out of it.
