Synopsis

Shido is just an ordinary school boy, but, he’s been recruited to help seal Spirits—the mystical creatures responsible for the spacequakes that threaten mankind. There’s just one catch: the only way to seal a Spirit is to make her fall in love with him. Now that he’s saved the world once or twice, more trouble is headed his way, and there’s only so much one boy can handle.

Show will be 12 episodes.

The TV broadcast seems to have fixed some of the animation quality but I still find the experience to be overall mediocre. First arc is about the
by the looks of it so far.

First episode is now up on Crunchyroll: https://www.crunchyroll.com/date-a-live/episode-1-the-seventh-spirit-781388

Episode 1

To start things up, the good old-fashioned awful cooking cliche, which was surprisingly good. And then comes the next girl causing spatial quakes in Natsumi. This witch can change the appearance of anything, and uses that power to impersonate Shido and do all sorts of lewd things to ruin his life. Once again, Shido is tasked with falling in love with yet another difficult girl to deal with, and he's getting himself into hot water quite a lot. It's good to be back with this show and the animation quality is improved with J.C. Staff taking the wheel for the now-closed IMS.

Ep.1

After 4 long years of waiting we are back with season three of Date A Live. Before anything serious happens we get a nice dose of comedy as the girls make Shido something to eat. It's great seeing all the girls again and by the looks of it Miku boobs have gotten bigger since the last season. Well at least they fixed some problems during the premiere because it looked horrible. When it comes to the new spirit Natsumi she came off as friendly, but seems she changes every time she sneezes. I most excited for Tobiichi Angel arc most of all so gotta get through this first to get to the better arc of the season.

Unfortunately I already know the main spoiler about Natsumi from looking up more info after the second season ended.

I'm still curious to see how it turns out. They're building up this huge "detective" narrative to find her, but I almost feel like it will be obvious once Shido talks to everyone (going off this episode).

When they say 7th spirit, are they not counting Kurumi? Wouldn't Natsumi be the eighth or ninth spirit?

Well if you count the twins as one and don't count Shido who has been heavily hinted at as being a spirit then yes she would be the 7th

Tobiichi's character in Ep1 seemed a bit more rushed than I remember, and of course the animation style has changed and takes some getting used to... but I will still watch if not just to look for that arc too! It can be fun stuff when I'm in the right mood, so I'm glad it's continued and they've got it up here on CR.

I didn't even realize CR would have this season. I had the whole show (1st two seasons) wiped from my queue when the Funi partnership ended, -which I had expected. And then a few days ago it "magically" reappeared right back in my queue when this new season started. -Minus the old Funi catalog seasons of course!

Far too many people are letting the shit animation of this season slide. Reminds me of all the people defending DxD Hero and Passione all over again.

As one of the shows I was most hyped for, it's already a massive disappointment.

Well, I suppose that's true, reading some of the comments on new shows here so far this season. As for my own comments regarding this season of DAL, I should say that I am also kind of disappointed with the animation, and I was just being kind. Probably because I would still rather stick around for the characters, as I too had been happy to hear of a new season.

But yeah, not only do the character designs stray quite a bit from the first two seasons, the first episode here looks a bit weak. Especially in comparison to some of the other recent shows by the same studios, etc.

I complaned about bad animation in Boogiepop among other issues

BTW the best animation maybe ever is RWBY VOL 6 / Rooster Teeth animation dept is way ahead of everybody else hand drawn or CGI / but nobody watches because its american Oh the story line is mind boggling

Date A Live III EP # 1 The Seventh Spirit

I think the big problem too many girls were put in / hopefully it will get better / the movie was treally good before this

OMG that stew looks more lethal than the Spirits / Actually it was OK

Then a new Spirit arrives Natsumi ( The Witch )

At first she is playful putting animal PJ's on the AST and the missles into carrots

Then gets serious and says to Shido you will die

At school Shido is blamed for doing bad things after Natsumi impersonates him but is caught when Tohka / Origami can tell the difference

Later Kotori delivers a letter ( after scannning ) that Natsumi wiil impersonate a list of 12 ppeople and wiil eliiminate each one if he cant figure out who is who
