THEY REMOVED THE BUTTON TO EVEN PRIVATE MESSAGE

they are 100% phasing it out imo

I don't know about that. If private messages were really being removed, wouldn't the inbox link be gone too? Given how glitchy the forum. guestbook, and profiles have been, I'd guess that they removed the button to send private messages because the code they had for blocking access to that system wasn't 100% effective. If the inbox link disappears too, well, that'll be the end of that.

I should have given more friends my Steam contact info while I had the chance.

It won'y even let me gift the premium passes that I have. I really hope this issue gets solved soon. I hate that I can't give a friend of mine a pass. I hope we get compensated for the passes we loose due to expiration during this error getting fixed.

Hello, i can't get into my inbox too, i can't reply to my (probably) favorite buddy, we exchange something like 3k words at once and now i can't give her any answer, because of this.

I'm glad, i've copied the last message private i've got on word, hahaha (for reply later)
I hope they gonna fix it.

Ok, this is a serious problem.

I pay for premium through the guest pass system which is very convenient. They really need to announce why it's taking so long to fix this (it's been weeks now)

Hello guys,

They gave me that answer :

"Hey Ainima94!
Thanks for letting us know and sorry for the delay in response! We've reached out to our partner to have this corrected. This is a known issue that's actually affecting a number of users. Our team is hard at work putting together a fix.
Thank you for your patience and have a great day!
"

I also got a reply from support when I told them about the inbox thing and they said it's not really going to be removed and is just being fixed.

Being honest, they should just remove the PM function. Its safer for users. But if the bots are that bad, this site must need better fire wall. Wow.

I do not really agree with this statement because Crunchyroll friends sometimes converse with each other in private messages.

What do you mean by "safer"? Tons of websites--including reddit--allow users to send and receive private messages. There is nothing inherently dangerous about that, and if someone starts bothering you, you can report their messages or block them.

And yet, they never put up a formal message. Why is that? It isn't something that would be formally difficult to do. If this is an issue affecting multiple users, then they ought to put up a message to allay fears.

Otherwise, the uncertainty of the userbase is being exacerbated by this incompetence in communication. That, or there is miscommunication in the team, or they are outright lying.

Given the bots and perverts, they either need to revamp the PM function or get rid of it altogether.

Which doesn't usually work. The perverts that do the stuff that attack users usually have alts. Several, many times. The 500 minimum points will help but not fully deter them. If nothing else, they should revamp the PM function to prevent abuse. I could go on for a while about this. With proof if asked. The main one that makes me think of removal of PMs as better is literally a major creep. Not comically. Real. Legit.

Revamp probably, get rid of altogether no. It would put them behind all the other sites and the number of people that would complain about PM's being gone would be overwhelmingly large
