PMs are better than GB since I can send longer messages and even pictures. I send my friends Christmas drawings every year and if they get rid of PM, I won't be able to this year.

Obviously, you are a good and gentle girl. I will try to help you with a tip.

If you want to make a gift a to a friend of yours, you can post it in the forum (either on the public forum, or in a group). And then, you can tell them in the guestbook where you have posted the gift for them.

I have done this for some of my forum friends , it works.

I hope this helps you.

I also got a reply from support when I told them about the inbox thing and they said it's not really going to be removed and is just being fixed.

It's been over a month now. How incompetent can their coding staff be?

There are plenty of reasons to have PM. I use it when I want to tell another user something that is for their eyes only. Sometimes I have something to say to someone that I don't want everyone to be able to read, and if the only place I see them is on this forum, e-mailing them or sending them Reddit PMs is not an option.

That's the main issue. The mods don't do anything so these pigs get away with it. Revamping the system and banning all pervs' IPs from accessing the site is the best idea. I am gonna hazard a guess and say you've been hit on while on this site?

It would be nice if anyone here cared but older users seem to suggest hey haven't given two shits about changes in a long time, no matter how vocal the userbase gets. As it is clearly a struggle to maintain even the bare minimum, I am not about to hold my breath.

& I don't actually about the perverts, sorry.
I've had them and avoid being harassed by not engaging.
I know it can be an issue for younger users but outside of that, idc.

I figured. I can also figure out who went for you too. Will not say names but they have always added every chick and then suddenly tons more try. It's so bad. About the staff, yeah. Email responses are so bad I've been mocked and threatened via email by them once. Not all former staff were bad. Bjaker was actually a good person who tried to do his job of protecting the users. He quit ages ago and then the site went to hell. The minimum age to use CR is 13. Its ridiculous how they don't protect the users with that fact in place. I am happy you are safe at least.

That I can sympathize with. I have been called a liar and then bribed with premium to change my feedback from negative to positive. Nick N is the only kind staffer I've come across but the other side to that is that he is also clueless and just throws free premium at his problems, lol.

I've had users add me & I go through their list and it's purely women, I just avoid and they move on. I had one not too long ago pretend to be a woman and tell me her 'sexy problems' and I had to clue them into the existence of fetish forums. So I can clearly see what other people are also dealing with with but...Ah, it's rude but I only care when it happens to the young users. I would be happy to see changes but for now, someone kick the kids off the social side of the site for their own safety bc CR is trash & I don't expect to see it get any better.

This. I know which female you mean too. It's the main perv on the site faking. You have a keen eye. Add me if you want. You are a wise woman. I totally agree on social of site being banned to kids. Nick is the only nice one. The main head of staff over there is an ahole. He isnt even aware of the issues and doesn't care. I did read something about allowing online overly perverted stuff is illegal due to safety issues. This isnt even going into the stolen accounts and false charges on credit cards etc. Like wtf.

Do you really think that anyone reads our guestbook conversations?

Yeah but that'll take a long time since I got tons of friends here. At least on PM I can send 20 at once.

Congratulations on being so sociable and social!
Personally, for the friends of mine whom I love very much, I am ready to spare some more of my time to write / draw something for them, and I have done this before.

Maybe they do, maybe they don't. It's actually irrelevant. Crunchyroll has millions of subscribers paying them $7 per a month. It's ridiculous they haven't fixed this problem in over a month...along with the multitude of other known bugs they haven't fixed on this site in over a year.

First of all, overusing emotes makes one look foolish. Use them sparingly. Do not be that guy.

With regards to privacy, some users value it more than others, particularly those who do not wish to discuss private details. Some of the stalker stories I first heard within this community seemed too incredibly persistent to be true, but it does seem that there are individuals out there who will exploit any loose tidbit of information to intimidate, provoke, or doxx users. This is especially true for many female users, many of whom are my friends.

While it doesn't happen for every user, it does happen to some. Hence why I myself would like private messaging to be a thing again, especially since my conversations with others can easily go over 5k words for a single topic.

Then people would just change their age. Doesn't really help

Man, I miss Bjaker. Good times. I have seen other volunteer moderators assuming a more relaxed role in regards to their duties, but the private messaging system likely has hampered their abilities. Generally, they will warn users who has stepped over the bounds just a little, but they can't exactly do that in private. That, and I believe that the report system does utilize the PM system, which allegedly does send a report to their inboxes that they now can't access.

I suppose working for a dying cause that won't support itself does induce a bit of apathy.

That being said, aren't there quite a number of unashamed users who blatantly go after females who so much as list "F" under there name? (Funny story, I did that, and got around 10 requests over the following three days.)

My ideas for this site would be a series of PM and Friend settings, such as:

-Only allow friends to PM you.
-Require those with PM to have a certain number of Crunchyroll points, or have purchased a Crunchyroll membership.
-Opt out of friend requests.
-How long the user must be a registered user.

However, I wouldn't say these fixes would substitute for actual site administrators. Having seen people buy Premium Membership only to...well, do nonsensical spam on the Forums shattered my worldview for how far people will go for so pathetic an end.

OT: My prediction for the future of Crunchyroll would be a long period of rapid then slow decline, before being reduced to a brand name operating solely under the VRV website. Amazon Fire's CR app hasn't worked for me in quite some time, but VRV strangely does.

Yes they can. I feel so bad that you guys had to deal with this. Some of my imoutos have been stalked, leading them to delete certain information off their profile. It's heartbreaking to see how low Crunchyroll has fallen.

First, the dramas went, then we witness the lack of HTML, then..

OT: They seemed to have "fixed" guestbook. I put fixed in parenthesis, as I have known site issues that have disappeared without any intervention from the administrators at all. I am not holding my breath and saying that this was a fix that came by on purpose, especially from the poorest country in Europe.

I stopped paying so I am just rolling with their mistakes.

& I've had creeps for as long as I've been on the internet so it's p routine, I know how to deal with them by now.

Yep. I can pretty much confirm that. Add me PV. I think you are intelligent. Being honest here, either PMs go or get revamped as you described above and mods are hired and paid. It's all likely one dude on several alts or spreading names around offsite. It's sad how you listed as female and got swarmed. Finally a guy understands what I'm saying. Bjaker quit and then all hell broke loose. I miss him as he was funny too.

Soooo does anyone have an update on the PM situation? Seems suspicious that a vital component of the site could be down for over a month.
