Death Note. It's just angst for the sake of angst. I stopped caring about that levels of brooding by the time I was twelve.
It doesn't help that it fails both as a character study and as a cat and mouse game as well. I don't see how anybody likes this show at all. Its just an edgy fanfic level of quality in my eyes. It's the ONLY anime I genuinely hate, yet its one of the most loved anime internationally, so it definitely qualifies for this topic.

Another one I can't stand.....

JoJo's.

Don't "get it."
Is that a Jojo reference?

Idk, even if I thought an anime was terrible I don't think I've ever hated an anime.

But if I go through MAL's top 50, these are the shows for me that didn't live up to the hype:
Clannad
Code Geass
Spirited Away
Cowboy Bebop
Mushishi
Wolf Children
Great Teacher Onizuka
Boku no Hero Academia
Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu

I enjoy it a lot. I love scheming evil protagonists, and DN has one of the best. Though I do admit it falls flat at some parts. One of my favorite moments was actually from the original Japanese Death Note movie. In the anime the female FBI agent basically only had one relevant episode. However, in the movie she was constantly on Light’s tail. So what Light did is that he set it up using the Death Note that the FBI agent would kill herself while making Light look like the victim. He wrote in the Death Note that his girlfriend would die at a specific time, while also writing that the FBI agent would fire her gun, and then commit suicide at that same time. Then he just arranged that his girlfriend and the FBI agent would be at the same place at that time, and the death note would just naturally take care of things. FBI agent accidentally kills lights girlfriend, but then commits suicide from guilt. Light is struck with grief, seen as the victim, and suspicion is subverted from him. It was brilliant. I love those strategy plays like that.

A lot of the really big ones like One Piece, Bleach (i don't HATE it but i personally find it overrated and overhyped), Naruto/Boruto
SAO was just flat out BORING
I honestly don't like Goblin Slayer purely bc of that first episode; I didn't want to be triggered (yes, ACTUALLY TRIGGERED) by an anime, yet here I am. I don't like rape scenes at all, but I despise the men who go "Gonna watch that first episode again for that rape scene, it's SO good!" I've practically left all of the anime groups i was in on facebook bc everyone kept saying it and then getting mad at me when i say "rape is bad"
I don't like Mecha anime (so out goes with Evagelion)
Attack on Titan is just meh
Ghost in the Shell is meh
and theres probably a lot more but i dont remember any more

That's cool. My hate is just that, my own hatred. For what its worth, it's not the basic setup that bothers me, rather it's that Light, at least in the anime, is both a two dimensional character and a fairly stupid.

Regarding the first I mean he's basically mustache twirling evil in that he falls over the moral event horizon so fast he's completely unsympathetic, and the one chance they have of showing at least some potential internal struggle as character development(the amnesia gambit), he just flips a switch and is back to evil incarnate with no acknowledgement of his time not in the possession of the death note. So yeah no character study of what makes someone become like this.

Regarding the second, its that the cat and mouse game is billed as a contest of intelligence, but Light has all the inherent advantage, so he needs to be dumb to keep the plot going. L does some genuinely creative things, but Light mostly just stumbles his way in and out of bad situations where he is either extremely lucky, or depends on the people around him being stupider than himself. He's no Hannibal Lecter, he's more of a profile of a real life serial killer that is in a position where it is extremely hard to pick him out, but he attributes it to his intelligence rather than circumstance, and ultimately has his hubris being his real weakness. It'd be fine if there was more focus on how the circumstances were the important thing, but it always framed things in a way that made it seem that Light was oh so smart rather than just stupidly lucky and advantaged.

Without either of those things Death note is just edgy snuff porn to me, which is distasteful to me. I could get over it if there was substance but there isn't any in my opinion. It just lacks both artistic and entertainment merit for me.

I don't hate it but after watching about 25 episodes or whatever of Eureka 7, I gave up. I'd actually seen some of the last episodes including the last one and it seemed pretty awesome to me at that point, maybe I was at the point where it was just about to turn awesome but it was sure taking its time and the pacing just didn't really work for me. Probably a pretty good show overall.

Overall, I like Cowboy Bebop but I feel it's overrated, a lot of the individual episodes are kind of so-so. A few awesome ones.

Don't really understand the love for Dragon Ball/Dragon Ball Z, whatever. But that's just me.

Eh, if I hate something I'm probably not going to watch it.

My Hero Academia
Made in the Abyss

Worse than the ones I don't like is my great shame, I seem to be the only person who remembers Gilgamesh, and I may have always been the only person who liked it. It was the first anime I saw with a blind transsexual.

I wish I had given up much earlier. I don't hate Eureka 7, but it was very disappointing to me. Eureka seemed like she was going to be a cool character early on, but she spent most of the time out sick. I didn't care about the other characters.

I was ambivalent about Cowboy Bepop, while it seems that most everone else thinks it's one of the best anime ever. I watched it a second time just to see if I was missing something the first time, but it just didn't appeal to me.

I can't say I hate these since I have not seen them, but I'm not a fan of super violent or dark work in general so anime in that category is a no-go for me. I find myself wishing that iyashikei shows were more popular than them because I think iyashikei and similar shows foster feelings of warmth and compassion, and thus make the world kinder.

Naruto (lost faith due to The massive sakura hate and the fandom's toxicity) To honest, its not the anime itself, i hate. It's the fandom i can't stand. There are some nice ones i met, but i heard the rest of the fandoms were acting rude due to ships and throwing threats at the creator.
Finally Cory in the house..
