My CR account downgraded to free even though I have VRV premium

This is not correct, unless they recently changed their policy. According to the VRV FAQ, if you buy a VRV Premium account, you get a free Crunchyroll Premium account.

Similar issue for me. I recently paid for a premium for a year. Last Thursday got an email saying I've been downgrade. I contacted support but have yet to hear back it's almost been a week with no response. From the looks of this thread I'd say that someone screwed something up or cruncyroll are criminals because they took my money and then took away what I paid for.
Do they even read the forms? If so I hope they see this and get their shit together. Because how can you encourage supporting the industry when they screw you over all the time.

I'm having the same problem. Paying for VRV and linking to get the CR premium. But a few days ago, CR changed to free status. This is the second time that it has happened. I've sent a ticket in but it looks like they take their time to fix it.

Same here. I'm overseas for work for several months and don't have access to VRV here, so would really appreciate having my premium working. It was working fine until yesterday.

No response yet from CR support. And the problem hasn't been fixed.

Is there any other way to contact CR support besides the form at: https://www.crunchyroll.com/help?topic=contact

Anyone have an email address or a phone number?

email goes the same place the form does but may be handled less quickly since it won't have all the same info required in the form that automatically routes it based on issue.

Crunchyroll does not offer phone support.

Add me to the list of people having the same issue. I'm seriously considering dropping VRV and going back to Cronchyroll only. This is kind of ridiculous.

I find myself tempted to go back to getting my anime from the darkside of the web. At least it is reliable, unlike Crunchyroll.

What bothers me most is that customer support is so slow. It's been 5 days, and I haven't gotten a response. That's awful customer service.

I ended up just canceling my VRV membership. This much hassle and no response with 24 hours for what is a serious account issue is not worth it.

I finally got a response. Crunchyroll forwarded my email to VRV support. And VRV responded:


Thanks for letting us know! We've reached out to our partner to have this corrected. This is a known issue that's actually affecting a number of users. Our team is hard at work putting together a fix.


Anyways, I guess they're aware of the problem and working on it.

Would be nice if they would let us know it's a common problem and is being worked on instead of leaving us in the dark. I use VRV for a lot of things, but the watchlist functionality is better on CR for simulcast shows, and I actually use their manga app regularly. Not having access to premium for CR despite this being part of the advertised feature set for the VRV I'm paying for really makes it hard to be happy with how this is being handled.

I got the exact same thing direct from VRV. It sounds like a form response.I ended up canceling my VRV membership and starting back up my CR Premium membership. There are a few things keeping me on CR. But, it is so tempting to cancel it. I've never heard anything back from CR. The customer service here is abysmal.
