Ok, I think we all can agree that western adaptations from anime/manga sucks. But looking to the other side i think some stuff might result in a great anime... Which western work would you like to see adapted?

I start with two candidates:
First, I'd love to see an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel The Ocean at the end of the Lane. I think it has the just balance of horror, visual mistery and pacing that would make a beautiful 12 episode story.
The second work i'd like to see translated into Anime is something placed on the Discworld Series. Like Konosuba, but with al the shenanigans and wierdness of Terry Pratchett's discworld

You set a pretty high bar there with both of those... It would probably be cheating to say Pratchett's Wee Free Men, or the Bromeliad trilogy so instead I'll just add the Artemis Fowl series.

I want to see Homer's Odyssey adapted into a reverse harem comedy about Penelope and her suitors.

Zootopia, in almost the same fashion we had a Lilo & Stitch anime series. I'd like an episodic anime series about Judy and Nick solving cases together as Zootopia's best buddy cop duo. And for all the WildeHopps shippers out there, it should also include an ongoing romantic subplot involving Judy and Nick developing some sort of romance with each other!

I'm not kidding. I go to ZootopiaNewsNetwork.com, the Zootopia subreddit, and DeviantArt a lot. And a ton of fans that I meet online would ship Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde with each other, like they're the second coming of Robin Hood and Maid Marian or The Rescuers' Miss Bianca and Bernard, or some other famous furry couple that I should know of.

I aways thought the Myth series by Robert Asprin would make a good anime. It's very tongue in cheek humor that would be very fitting for this format.

It's not an animated media adaptation, but did anyone ever play Legend of the 5 Rings? I'd love to see the Scorpion Clan Coup through to the Second Day of Thunder.

For anyone who doesn't know it, I'd describe it as fantasy-samurai-horror.

That would be pretty great

his Phul's Company would be a fun choice as well
(Interplanetary church of Elvis, animated Space Dandy style)

The Belgariad series, by David Eddings, is one I think would work well and an Anime
