I can't shake the feeling that all the errors this site keeps piling up is because they are cutting corners so streaming which is the core can continue to operate.. I wonder what function will go off line next? .

VRV isn't Viz, it is owned by the same company as Crunchyroll, and you can link your account for Crunchyroll to VRV so that you can still watch anime when Crunchyroll goes down

That's not an excuse for the crappy state that Crunchyroll has been in for the past week, but at least it gives you an option to still watch the shows you want to watch.


Correct, the issue is is that VRV is US only, meaning people in other countries (like me in the UK) have to put up with the poor service crunchyroll is offering, the US also get more anime than us cause if Hulu (another US ONLY company) licenses something, we would never ever get it in the UK.

disagreed, it takes nothing to put the message at the top of the screen stating (Crunchyroll will be down at xx:xx PST for some crucial fluffy omelette making (Maintenance)) or something like that, especially if people are paying a fiver a month or £20 a year. It would be better if it was referred by GMT rather than PST, but everything CRoll does seems to be centred around PST, so it looks like I would always be googling what time it is in the pacific coast.

Edit: £20is about $26 at a 1:1.3 conversion rate, the actual uk price for month to month is £4.99 which is $6.49 (US) at the same rate (1.3 is the base average rate of conversion between GBP and USD)

The issue is a site based one! Poor servers or poor maintenance of servers and lack of investment in the service leads to poor customer retention levels. Also poor communication equals poor customer retention! I have been unable to create new forum posts for days and both my Apple devices display this error message on every video way to frequently to call this a functional Apple App service!

A PR piece that showed up in the Crunchyroll newsfeed talked about one of Crunchyroll's selling points being the community around it. Remove the forums and you remove one of the big selling points.

At this point CR is sort of like the neighborhood hole-in-the-wall restaurant: It's far from a 4 star place but the food is good and the other patrons are good company.

Crunchyroll as a paid service lacks professionalism and quality. iOS App issues on my iPhone and iPad make this app non usable.

Anybody else missing thumbnails for the latest episodes from their queues??

I've noticed this on Wednesday when the latest Shield Hero episode came out and had no thumbnail, and every anime from my queue that had new episodes out after that had missing thumbnails.

Here's a screencap. The thumbnail is there when I open the sub menu of a saved anime and on my history but not on the main preview, the same problem exists on the browser on my phone but not on the app





I had no where else to report this since I can't start a new topic because with every shutdown something breaks on the website and this thumbnail thing seems to be the latest one
