Hello everyone,

I think it's my first thread here? Not sure if we can ask for recommendations, but I think that should be alright?

At any rate, I'm looking for some suggestions for RPG-like anime, primarily focused on fantasy.

So far I've watched:
- Overlord - was a bit sceptical at first but I loved it in the end. Not every part of it, but it was pretty dang enjoyable. Shalltear best girl... minus transformation. What is that even supposed to be >.<
- How not to summon a demon lord - huge fan of catgirls, fantasy, RPGs and harem anime so what's not to love. real best girl Rem in this one :D
- Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! - it was enjoyable enough, but not enough to say I'd rewatch it. It feels like it's missing something... I was told beforehand that Megumin would be best girl. Great contender, but Aqua best girl, sorry
- Fairy Tail - over a hundred episodes, but the inconsistencies made it pretty impossible for me to continue... Sherry best girl
- Blade dance of elementalers - Claire is so adorable that I watched it twice in a row. Claire best girl.
- Is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon? - I'd say about average. Enjoyed s1 a lot more than s2 though. Still, Haruhime best girl

I think that's all? Dog Days, Highschool DxD and such don't really count imo.

bonus points for cute girls. extra bonus points for twintails. extra bonus points for fox- and catgirls.

Here's my MaL if you want a look through it https://myanimelist.net/animelist/DiaborMagics

Thanks in advance!

Well, the second season of Granblue Fantasy should be starting up before long. You can catch up on the first season.

Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash is pretty much D&D. Also Goblin Slayer.

Oh, and Log Horizon.

It doesn't get much better than Overlord and Log Horizon.

Go for the Isekai Quartet. Overlord, Re Zero, Konosuba and Tanya. Also Slime.

The Rising of the shield hero - (Was skeptical about this one but its above average)
That time i got reincarnated as a slime - (Isekai wouldn't say is too rpg but its close, I really enjoyed it)
Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody - (Enjoyed it, I loved Liza and Nana)
RE:Zero - (Its an interesting isekai, but you can hate the main character. Rem Best girl in this one)

And if you have low standards and can survive it

Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? - (Hard to keep attention, Mamako is a mary sue that takes the whole damn spotlight and its not very RPG even if they're in a "MMMMMO-rpg")

If you are familiar with MMORPGs, I would recommend .hack//sign (and subsequently everything else in the series, but start there) and Log Horizon. These are probably the only two MMO animes out there that take the MMO setting seriously rather than simply using it as a setting for a typical OP harem.

Which reminds me, Ragnarok Online the Animation is also an option, it's kind of corny and not that great quality, but I personally did enjoy it.

Zero no Tsukaima (The Familiar of Zero) is a classic isekai harem, but one of the few well written ones.
MAR : Marchen Awakens Romance is an old fantasy shonen that is very RPGish in nature if that's your thing.
Lord of Lords Ryu Knight (Haou Taikei Ryu Knight) is very RPGish, it also has giant robots though. This is an old 90s one, there are two versions: The TV Series which is fun but a lot more childish, and the OVA (Adeu's Legend) which is really good and kind of dark.
Sorcerous Stabber Orphen (Majutsushi Orphen) is a classic one about a wizard trying to turn his sister back into a human because she was turned into a dragon.
Wild Arms : Twilight Venom This one is kind of low quality, but it's really fun. It's based loosely on Wild Arms 2, almost a gaiden to it.
Legend of the Legendary Heroes : This is probably the most JRPG style anime out there, it's a lot of fun. It would have been awesome if they adapted the entire LN, but unfortunately they didn't. Still an awesome watch though.
Record of Grancrest War : I'd go as far as to say this is basically an anime of Fire Emblem Gaiden / Fire Emblem Shadows of Valencia. There are so many parallels in the story.
Record of Lodoss Wars : It's an anime based on transcripts of what happened during some Japanese D&D campaigns. So it's essentially D&D the anime.
Rune Soldier ( Mahou Senshi Louie ) : A comedy spinoff of Record of Lodoss Wars about a Wizard who fights with his fists and a group of adventurers. Takes place in the same universe as Lodoss Wars but not nearly as serious and there are no cameos.
Slayers : Classic comedy RPG adventure.

Ohhh a nice list of recommendations here Thanks everyone. And yeah I loved Re:Zero, though it does not really count as an RPG I'd say. But it is one of the best I've seen and also why I said that How not to summon a demon lord has the REAL best girl Rem in it :D

If Granblue Fantasy is getting a s2 soon maybe its indeed worth checking out its season 1 before anything else. Log Horizon sounds pretty good too though. Yeah, I'm familiar with MMOs, though not as much as others. I've played black desert online for over 3 years, but that is one of the most single player oriented mmos out there... though im playing the trial for ff14 rn too.

I'll pick Log Horizon or Granblue for starters and then I'll work through more in the list. Thanks very much! :D
Adding to my queue what i can but sadly not everything is available

Gate was quite enjoyable and it's kind of a hybrid. A group of soldiers entering a Gate connecting Modern Day Japan to a land of elves, dragons and Gods.

Rokka was pretty good and definitely fit the RPG mold.
