Somebody was asking to make this thread. Well wish granted, I present to you the best looking and obviously not sarcastic thread ever.

I don't plan on watching this so have at it people.

Episode 1

I haven't watched Z/X Ignition, so going into this show blindly, I remember some of the stuff in the few episodes I watched of those series and I remember just how confusing and over the place that show was. This one, it's much clearer as to what happens, but at the same time it's a lot of dullness here. The girls might be interesting, but seeing how the show just goes about starting up school only for an enemy attack to happen before the opening ceremony, that's not what I had in mind. I'll give it another, but it doesn't look like I'll be staying with this show.

The first episode was not what I was expecting at all, actually just watched it on a whim expecting crap. Honestly I was pleasantly surprised, the loli with the knife throwing doll trying to kill sword girl for bumping it was pretty funny.

Very, very honestly, I appreciate that you actually took time to put real info here instead of mindlessly copying often incomplete information from another source.

Regarding this show, I know I watched the first episode. I know I immediately put it in my "Will not finish" list. I can't, even just these few days later, remember much of anything about it at all. I'm guessing I wanted to throw up all over all of the girls.

Edit: just read kkmenchi's post. Now I do remember the doll thing. That was pretty amusing, but also stupid enough that it helped push me away more than drawing me in.

The set up reminded me a bit of blue gender with the way you have someone who had an illness waking up from suspended animation to find things have changed quite a bit. Of course the similarities pretty much end there.

I thought this was interesting. It has me intrigued enough to want to keep watching.

Episode 2

And just like that, Azumi's will to live got her through, and now the girls are fighting back. The students all power up, but even so they just aren't strong enough to take out that thing that fired on the academy. But just when it looked like the girls were left for dead, help arrived just in time. Pretty much, it's all about the girls getting tough, roughed up, and then saved, not exactly original.

It was these girls first fight so it's understandable that they didn't know what they were doing. Still, to go through all that for them to not be very effective was kind of a let down. Hopefully we'll get to see them figure things out.

Huh so besides the complete coincidence 5 girls with a Z/X (is this pronounced the same as "sex" in Japanese? ) from each realm (nice of them to have corresponding hair colors too ) just happening to wander into the space launch room did their principal really send them to be cannon fodder? Besides Ais' clone it was just silly watching them all uselessly attacking the satellite until the dragon showed up. Didn't the principal or the girl with him say sending the 5 of them up there was the ONLY way they had to fight it? did they forget about the girls with the dragon?
Meh the first episode seemed so promising but this was just really dumb. Oh well since the preview showed a hot spring episode I guess I'll at least stick around for that.

I think its pronounced more like "zex."

I'm guessing the principal didn't know that the other team was on their way or that they might not get there in time so he just went with what he had at the time. Basically weighing the potential sacrifice of the 5 of them against trying to save a lot more of the students on the ground by trying to buy some time. We'll have to see if they elaborate more on this in future episodes like you see sometime in other shows.

I did think it was funny when the one teacher(?) ran off and the girls were just left hanging, "she didn't tell us where to go."

In terms of evacuation, the faculty should have noticed that the enemy was just bombarding the school grounds and immediate vicinity. They should have just told the students to get as far away as possible from the campus.

Hmm, the student council came to rescue the girls on a pretty cool looking dragon. Based on the information from that citadel structure, that dragon may be the fused result of 5 Z/Xs. If so, I'm curious as to other possible Z/X combinations (and if you can do other number combinations besides 5 or does it have to be 5 different types of Z/Xs).

Episode 3

And now, everything is being explained as the academy was built specifically for defending the Earth from the Inerma, and the reason why their attacks couldn't scratch that enemy is because only a coordinated attack by all five realms could put a dent. And that's why they are training, and as expected the first training exercise doesn't go well. So being the lowest rank team, they end up staying at a run-down dorm supervised by Ira, who is being rough on the girls in training. Well, there's not much action here, but seeing these girls failing so hard, that was something I have seen time and again.

Nope I was mistaken this is pure crap. I don't care how much you train how are you supposed to fight alien death beam equipped satellites with a cat girl, anthropomorphic cat in a suit or a sword in space? Or compete against a team with a giant dragon? Even lame boob jokes and an onsen at the dorm can't help polish this turd.

Could the principal of this school be any more incompetent? First he puts the students in danger by starting classes before they were ready for an attack. Then he gives this group a terrible trainer. She does nothing to organize them as a team or teach them any sort of tactics, she pushed the one girl too far in her training and then during the mock battle she panics and starts contradicting herself. The principal should have replaced her on the spot as soon as he saw what a horrible job she was doing.

That would have been a very bad idea. Even if the attack was focused primarily on the school it was still hitting the area around the school as well. You would have had students running out in the open with basically no protection whatsoever. Once the enemy saw them they could have switched to targeting the students and it would have been a bloodbath. It's pretty basic tactics that you seek shelter when under enemy bombardment. Plus the school did have shelters set up for the students. They just got caught with their pants down and should have made plans for a scenario like that. The principal of the school should have immediately been fired for not being prepared and putting the students in a vulnerable position like that.

Yeesh the boys really got screwed. I thought this was the kind of thing where only girls could make pacts or something, but no. The boys just get treated horribly for some reason.
