Plot Summary

There are people who can get into people's minds and control their memories. This power is used to eradicate mysteries and cases or worse, to assassinate. The potential of said power is strong enough that it is able to destroy people's minds, however, it can backfire and eat up ones own heart. To counter it, chains are used to lock and protect each other's weak and dangerous hearts. From one's growing fear and disdain, they're consequently called as a "Pet."

So this show is about people using stands that look like animals to change people's memories?

And much like other Twin Engine shows, it's probably not going to be up outside Japan until tomorrow knowing how they operate. Babylon was the exception last season, but it looks like that was an exception and not the rule. I could have possibly missed it because Pet is a common word, but it looks like it really isn't up yet.

Please someone share the Prime link once it's up. I don't want to miss it like I did with Psycho Pass 3. Amazon's video search engine sucks.

Episode 1

This show didn't waste any time letting you know that it's going to be a brutal. From hacked up body parts in beginning to the mind games, and that opening song by the guy who did the first Tokyo Ghoul opening, it's pretty clear that this show is isn't for the faint of heart. So it begins with Hiroki and Tsukasa working for Kenji at his scuba diving shop and bar. Kenji finds himself in a tight spot after being approached by a guy with a cigarette where the mind games really take off. These guys are sure in for one hell of a psychological battle as in this show people can infiltrate minds and manipulate memories to cover up some pretty nasty secrets. Interesting start to say the least.

Well that sure didn't turn out the way I'd expected.

So, are we talking Gantz-like here? This may go on my list of hard passes with Darwin's Game

I knew that opening song sounded familiar with Ling Tosite Sigure being in charge (they did Psycho Pass 2's OP back a few years ago)

Really confused to see how this will turn out though. There's so much happening but at least they managed to introduce Hiroki and Tsukasa, the two main leads.

I think this anime has an interesting premise but will be a bit niche for the audience.

Quite the opposite, it had a very "low tech" and decidedly "mob connected" feel to it

Not sure what to think - can see this getting complicated and confusing, but has potential if they do a good execution.

More episodes to see how it goes.

I find Episode #1 to be interesting so far, and I pretty much get the gist of what the group's trying to run.

I'd like to see where they'll go from here, but that depends on how the rest unfolds.

The mind control thing is kind of confusing, but I'm interested enough to keep watching. I hope it doesn't get too complicated for my simple and aging mind.

Huh well that was...something, didn't really follow everything very well but should be an interesting show.

How Hayashi explained the peaks and valleys at the beginning sounded like he was applying math to psychosis, as if applying the structure of 'laws' could control the subjective. As the wave (those peaks and valleys) is the basis of all audio and visual perception, it made me wonder if they found a way to change waves for other people, thus creating altered realities.
