Really? Never had that happen to me. Usually if they are only looking for feedback from a certain age group you are told up front.

4+ months radio silence and no improvements made not even the ones that CR claimed needed the new terrible queue system instead of the old reliable one. Geez I'd truly recommend firing the entire PR staff and the tech team cause they are robbing you blind assuming they actually exist and are getting paid. Because it is kind of like they don't exist except to pop up and make something way worse instead of better. Definately glad I cancelled and switched to hulu and funimation I just wish I didn't have to ditch the original anime streaming site.

Quoting this for truth. This happened back in February. It's now June and there hasn't been any update. Um. Usually when you break something in order to release a new version that will be better... you actually release the new version that will be better. And it should take like 2 weeks max, not 4 months. I understand there's likely covid-related delays, but that still doesn't account for this long amount of time.

Not that saying any of this matters since I'm sure nobody from CR bothers to look over here anymore. I think I'll just write in to support. I recommend others do the same as well.

I’m honestly not surprised they haven’t given us any updates I’m still waiting on that inbox update and it’s been more than a year for that one.

about those surveys ... never again will I do one after what happened to me; after spending a fair amount of time thinking about the questions and giving relative and constructive answers and stuff, I pressed the submit button and got a message saying

"You must be 13 years or LESS to take part in this survey!"

sheesh ... so ... I'm too old to participate? Regardless of being a paying subscriber? don't I get a say (I think it was about general stuff like quality of streaming, etc, and also the queue). It could have stated from the outset there's an age limit and save me time doing it. Just sayin' NEVER AGAIN will I respond to a CR survey EVER. age discrimination. bleh. my feelings were hurt.

Are you absolutely sure that's what it said? Because collecting information from kids under 13 is SUPER illegal. Youtube got in serious trouble for doing that.

I know I'm just one person, so how many F's can you actually give about me, but nonetheless I thought I'd let you know, this is one of the major reasons I ended my sub. I really don't understand why so many sites don't give queues/lists more love when it comes to things like being able to have multiple queues, or failing that, being able to tag/label items with (multiple) labels that can then be sorted/filtered. One of the few reasons I liked Crunchyroll over other similar services is being able to manually sort my queue, because it let me sort of work around queue functionality limitations. But now that's gone, and so went my ability to feasibly bucket and track the things in my queue, the way that works for me.

Honestly, I don't care what you were "doing" (quotes because it's been months and you've ponied up nothing...) that you thought would improve my UX. Bottom line is there is almost nothing you could do that would actually trump allowing a user to manually sort a list. Sure, you could certainly do a number of things that would make things a whole lot more convenient. But removing the usort is a step backwards, no matter what else you do.

Anyways, I'll happily come back to Crunchyroll and resub if/when you actually get your s**t sorted..

Have we heard any news as to when we get the old queue back? It's been months.

They're not going to do anything. They want us to either use VRV or sign up for HBO Max.

Does VRV have the ability to manually sort a queue?

No, just on the fly sorting that goes back to the default every time you go in to your watchlist.

There are more sorting and filtering options than here at present, like they added to the new IOS app, but they're not all that useful.

It changes every time you watch something, putting that on top, which is OK if you're binging an old series and haven't finished it all yet, but it sucks for going through your simulcasts updating weekly; those should go to the bottom when done with the latest one so that the next ones you will watch would bubble up. At least that would make some sense with the lack of a manual ordering option, but it's just stupid to put the ones you already watched on top, which makes you keep chasing further down the list for the next one you haven't watched yet.

no, the sorting isn't any better with VRV. I just think that the new corporate overlords of Crunchyroll won't keep spending development money on all three services (Crunchyroll, VRV, and HBO Max).

I imagine the global pandemic probably is causing some kind of delays in these features. Either way though, I've given up on using the queue. Every aspect of how it works right now is just annoying.

I'd have to guess that was their intent all along. Imagine the database hits incurred by millions of users reordering their queue all the time, then make it so you can't do that anymore. What a load that must have removed from contention for the permission verification lookups. Cost-cutting done at the expense of gaining user acrimony, the very definition of corporate business decision making.

I seriously doubt that's what happened. Losing paying customers is not in any way favorable to lighter bandwidth loads. Also the site's been pretty stable for the last year or two. Compared to when Dragon Ball Super was airing and it went down at least once a week.

In other news, they FINALLY fixed the comments section on news articles to actually list them by top-voted instead of most recent (although replies are still in reverse-chronological order making it very hard to follow a conversation). Sure glad that non-essential feature was taken care of before anything else.
