It is good to know that being able to sort and filter your queue would make it easier to watch recent and simulcasting anime. Nice one Crunchyroll. Would love to see this on places like Apple TV as well.

Does this mean the manual sorting option is permanently removed henceforth?

It would be useful that the "show favorites only" checkbox was persistent.
If you do so I wouldn't mind if manual sorting does not come back

Honestly I do not give a rats patootie about what ever changes you plan on for the queue. I just want the option to manually sort it back. I hate how it is set up right now. To me personally, you have taken a huge step backwards concerning the queue, no matter what your reason was for doing so.

I am seriously thinking of dropping my subscription if the manual sorting of the queue does not come back. Not that you or anyone else cares if I do. I have been a paid subscriber for at least 6 or 7 years now and this is the first time anything has made me realy question if I want to stay one.

I get mad at this site every so often, since it randomly breaks on my computer and I have to watch from my mobile which is not great, so I just drop it for a while. I got back just yesterday and I have to find this, ugh. The last upgrade I was here was the video player and I couldn't watch a single video for about a month, hope this won't get that issue. While I'm on it, couldn't there have been a beta testing before you messed up with all of our queues? While you're on the queue thing, can you make an anime which I've completed in one language not to show as the first episode of the next language? I won't watch a series in every single language I can, and it kinda bothers me. Else, can we get a "completed" section? Much preferred if we can mark as completed rather than an algorithm doing it for us, since it'll likely get troublesome for dubbed anime.

Edit: I forgot. One thing I do love about this site is the manual sorting, I hope you won't remove it.

I noticed this a while ago but finally decided to talk about it. Something that wasn't broken was "fixed". My biggest problem with this was now I have to look for my shows just when I finally got used to the order. I'm mad we also can't set it in an order where we can find things and when we watch an ep the show gets moved. I find it incredibly annoying when this happens as I like things in order. A couple years ago my account was hacked and the people who hacked it were Naruto fans and got rid of most of the shows on my Queue. it was a pain in the @$$ getting everything back from memory.
So will I get used to it? probably eventually but I'm confused as to why you thought this was necessary.
IF you really wanted to fix something it should have been the Manga reader. why is that still on Flash!? I use the app for that for a reason and half the time that doesn't work so I have to delete then reinstall it. it'd be easier if I didn't have to use something no one uses anymore and that's gonna be killed off in 10 months.

I lost a ton of series that were on my queue list. Will they be back eventually? And will they be back in the right manual order I needed them to be?

Make sure to add categories for shows you haven't started watching (want to watch later) and ones you're in the middle of.

I also absolutely hate when I have to quit an episode midway through and I'm not able to know where I left off without playing it first, so something like a preview frame of where you left off would be incredible. This is quite useful for avoiding spoilers. The episode progress bar you use is fine, but you can do better.

I really hope I am wrong, but this scenario seems all too familiar. In my opinion, they were not planning on implementing manual sorting as a feature from the start of this project. It is much easier as a company to have a more simplified system with less data necessary for each user. Now they are stating that things will be added in the coming months, so in the mean time, just bear with it. (Perhaps the angry mob will forget and settle down by then, learning to accept the new system.) In my opinion, the new features are not beneficial to me personally since they offer a much degraded user experience.

I had a hundred shows in my queue. As with many other members, they were sorted and grouped the way I wanted. Since I only watch on TV, this made it easier for me to scroll through and find what I wanted quickly. So the advice they gave was to use the favorites function. Should I favorite a hundred or more shows? I tried to use the favorites system, but that did not help, since it still ordered the shows similarly to the watched or added method and allowed me no further ability to improve the mess that the queue is in currently. I spend more time searching for shows, which leads to frustration, annoyance, and switching to another source for shows. If they were concerned at all, you would think they would have considered a little warning before such a drastic change occurs. I have been a paying subscriber for over five years. If the convenience factor is no longer there. then I have to consider other options. So for all of the people with larger queues, or for anyone who has put in any amount of time setting their personal queue up, I feel it is incredibly inconsiderate on CR's part to do this to everyone without so much as a hint of the changes coming in the future. Maybe they should remember that without their user base, they would not exist.

come on! why dont they just do:
1.- bring back the manual sorting
or
2.- make persistent the "show favorites only"

you dont need categories
They should follow KISS good practice: Keep It Simple Stupid!

shinji
You may have noticed that we’ve recently removed the manual queue sorting function on the Crunchyroll website. We understand that this may be frustrating, but there’s a good reason for it!

We’re currently working on some significant changes to enhance the Crunchyroll queue experience, such as providing new ways to sort, filter, and curate your watchlists. Another exciting change we’ve been working on is the ability to replicate these functions on our Android and iOS mobile apps, as well as Android TV!

To ensure that these new features can be implemented on the website back-end in the least disruptive way, we’ve had to make an intermediate update to the service, which involved removing the manual sorting option.

We’re hoping to roll out some of these exciting new features in the near future, so please bear with us while we work on creating the best possible experience for you!

So you kinda didn't bother stating whether or not those "exciting new features in the near future" will include the reintroduction of the manual sorting option. Which leads me to believe that this feature, which I'm guessing is far more useful than whatever you may be adding, is lost for good.

so much for site news if they dont bother to even comment to continue development.. way too long without a update on this crap

CR - Give back manual sorting.. its the only function of your old queue system that worked right.. and franking the main thing missing from this one.. really tired of having to guess randomly thru my list of anime to figure out where the hell I was..

It's pretty stardard to update people on the changes you intend to implement, or at the very least to make a big announcement about changes, especially those that are temporary. If they really are.

It'd have been more logical to put the system in place once it was complete, rather than put out something like this. Especially, when it often takes CR much longer to implement things than it really should.

I vastly preferred the manual sorting, although I agree it wasn't perfect. What I'd really like to see is the ability to organise the queue via user-defined tags, so we can quickly get to what we want/easily resort. I always thought it was frustrating that I couldn't have things in different lists, because it meant I was always reorganising. I'd settle for preset tags like: Rewatch, Watching, Waiting, Want-To.

The only reason I'm not cancelling my subscription is because I prefer to be legal, where possible. I'm considering switching to Funimation, which is cheaper, but CR has a better library (maybe). I know CR probably doesn't care about losing one subscriber, but hey.
