dunno why people are so mad about this. i've been using the site for years as a member and never had or have had any issues with the queue. its not that hard to just take a small amount of time to look through said queue and find what you wanna watch and i say that as someone that has hundreds of series in my queue only thing that really needs to be added is a way to sort series alphabetically.

Any chance we can get some updates on progress? I'd really like to see some results by the new spring season/end of march?

I really like how my queue experience didn't get worse in a past week! Good job, keep it up!

Meanwhile, I started learning web-development in the hopes of working at Crunchyroll, since they seem to be short on that department. I wonder, how it feels the other way around: when THEY pay ME to fix their site.

Just sitting here patiently waiting for manual sorting to be added back, so I may start to use this site again. Going to other sites is a chore, but right now the queue is unmanageable, so you really leave me little choice in the matter.

To ensure that these new features can be implemented on the website back-end in the least disruptive way, we’ve had to make an intermediate update to the service, which involved removing the manual sorting option.

As a developer, I find this a bit odd. If you have QA environments for the server-side systems to test changes, this can surely be done without affecting your end users. Can you not run the front-end locally and point it to a QA instance that's built off a new branch? Do you not version breaking changes to your internal API? Strange. I hope you aren't testing in production.

The thing that really needs fixing in my opinion is your web player... Why does the entire browser page refresh and take me out of full-screen when the next episode comes up? It's very frustrating when binge watching because every time it reloads I have to scroll down due to all the menus and notification banners on the top of the page, then click on full screen again. It's fine I'm watching one or two episodes, but not very user friendly when I want to watch 4-5 or more while I am doing something else on the other monitor.

Personally, I would rather see improvements being made to the comment section of the videos. I think something along the lines of what Youtube has would be really good here, or maybe something that has a live update feature instead of relying on the page being reloaded.

A statement that custom sorting is on the roadmap would calm a lot of this down.

Since the the official statement carefully avoided stating this it sounds like it won't be coming back.

I would love the options to list series in "complete", "currently watching", "favorite", and such.

I've added may in my Queue, but there are many that I don't go back to because I've finished watching them. They are there only to remind that I've already watched them. And then there are old series that I've watched when I was a kid and saved them in order to go back and rewatch them.

I don't think it's a matter of "I can't find -insert show here- in my list of anime" that has people upset. It's a matter of losing how they were sorted specifically.

Just an example, I had the shows in my queue sorted in the following order;

Shows I'm watching with friend group A, sorted in the order we watch them in a day (once-a-week)
Shows I'm watching on my own
Shows I'm watching with friend group B, in the order we watch them. (Less often of a get-together, so placed lower than other groups)
Shows I haven't decided if I will add to my weekly's
Shows I plan to watch in the future

When the only options are "Date Added" or "Date Accessed", you lose the ability to keep track of the shows in the way that you were, and shows suddenly jump up your list in inconvenient ways.

To be fair though, it is still significantly more convenient than many of the other streaming services out there; (Funimation, PrimeVideo, Netflix, to name a few).. It just the fact that now that a feature we have come to rely on is gone, with a silent period of almost a month, its very disheartening for a paid service.
