The first episode is now up on Crunchyroll: https://www.crunchyroll.com/sing-yesterday-for-me/episode-1-untitled-794606

Episode 1

Lots of introductions here as it beins with Rikuo, who's just a conveni worker, feeding rejected bentos to the crows, and one of them just so happens to be Haru's pet. With a high school reunion, Rikuo meets up with his former classmate Shinako, who is now a teacher at the school, and Shinako was Haru's homeroom teacher. Haru is in college, and was a troublemaker in school as she got suspended for having a job at a bar. Rikuo sure is living a sad life there with no hopes or dreams, but that's about to change and he has some past acquaintances to thank for that. I like what I'm seeing so far as Rikuo's character development is going to be a pleasure to watch.

It's hard to believe that this is Doga Kobo animating this as this is not the studio's usual animation style and they are better known for their comedies. But they went outside the box and this animation style fits the show's serious mood nicely.

I think this has a decent start with the realistic setting.

Haru has a personality that I think I can get used to while the rest of the cast so far seems normal. Rikuo's job at the store isn't something special to brag about but for a character, I think there's a lot of room for development.

The art style looks okay and music has a serene like feeling for the show. Curious to see how much they plan to adapt the drama into this series. This first episode sets up for lot of story development. I remember reading the manga awhile ago and it's interesting they're able to bring this in modern anime quality.

I think this was pretty good, I'll stick around and see where it goes. With a title like that I was kind of hoping there would be more music in it. Maybe it's building up to it?

Since Episode 1 is called "Untitled" and I refuse to believe that's the actual title, and that the anime is a Beatles reference; I want to see if I can name each episode after a Beatles song. I'll name this episode "Nowhere Man"

I feel like I read part of this manga years ago, but stopped reading and now I forgot what happened. I'll watch since this is Doga Kobo, I enjoyed the episode.

Just to let you know, this show will run for 18 episodes. The TV broadcast runs for 12 episodes, and then the last 6 will be an ONA that will come sometime after the TV broadcast.

Very good quality and I like the lonely, melancholic feel to it. But I have a feeling this show is going to wield the feels like a sledgehammer at some point, and I've finished very few shows like that in the past couple of years.

Yeah, I'll be the first to admit I'm avoiding this show just from the look and feel of it so far. I don't need to be hammered in the feels these days.

OK this is my kind of show. Sure it may bring the feels, but in the meantime it is pretty relaxing to watch.

Really liked the polished animation that brought natural movement to the characters even when they were just having basic conversations. Other shows would just pan with lip flaps, full stop. Hopefully that doesn't change as the show runs its course.

Reminds me a little of Just Because. Definitely will be watching this one.

I thought this was quite good. I can relate to the MC (what does that say about me ) except for the part where he's hanging around two cute girls most of the time.

"Cute girls are allowed to do anything." Got that right lol. I'm immediately liking Haru chan.

i hate to say it but when the mc mentioned how he hates talking about people who work hard unlike him, i immediately thought "damn bro i feel that"

aside from that, i really like how the show started off and im hoping for a solid rest of the season. definitely hyped about this one.

Man, I really liked this first episode, and could tell it was seinen straight away. Felt like it had a lot of substance for it that a shounen romance would take a season to do.

F it, give me the feels.

Great!
This is the least supernatural series of the author, together with the currently running series. Wonder if they will ever adapt the Lament of the lamb too.
Took him about 12-14 years for this series?

Hahaha I missed this post.

Nice one. I guess an alternate title could be "Blackbird."
