hey i have a question, ehm i have heard that these "6 extra episodes" are just 2 min extras which means that this was really the last episode, is that true? and is Shinako making no progress at all in the end ? (does she love Rou or not im confused)

Yes, this is the last episode, and yes, the 6 "extra episodes" are just the post-credit clips. It's a shame.

(Love your avatar btw! Great anime and manga!)

If you search through the thread they are all linked here somewhere (I linked the last one in the post above yours). As for Shinako depends if you call dating someone you saw as your younger brother (or potential brother-in-law) as progress.

We kinda knew this was going to happen

But all the details in it made it a good watch . Thanks to the black crow Eventually, Shinako will change now that he is on his own .

in my opinion she is just hurting herself and Rou and if they would start dating and idk break up after some years because she relieses ( i hope thats the right word^^) that she never truly loved him , thats gonna destroy her and probably Rou. I could be totally wrong and they will end up happy who knows.

One of the show's (and maybe the manga's) major problems was the failure to make Rou a sympathetic character at all. Rikuo, Haru and even Shinako are relatable to varying degrees, but Rou just comes off as an entitled, petulant, whiny child over the course of the whole series, and Shinako's characterization suffers b/c of her enabling "concern" for him. And then there's the age gap and then there's the teacher-student dynamic...

Hell yeah i agree with u about Rou , he is obsessed with her and even makes her feel bad when she is not with him. They should have made 24 ep to flesh out the characters more, one thing i would like to add , ehm i wasnt even sure that Shinako and Rikou broke up until she asked him if he would like to stay friends with her^^

Personally, I loved the scene at the end with Rou's friends when they grab his sketchbook and see the picture of Shinako. It's just a collective "wtf who is this old woman? ... oh shit.. eeewwww" moment.

And yeah, who knows what would/could happen to them in the future. They do have a shared past and did have a connection that clearly wasn't there for her and Rikuo, but starting when and where they are right now in the story is just.. not a good place.

Well, it didn't end as well as it started, but still not horrible. Shinako needs a psychiatrist really badly.

In the end Rikuo not pressuring her as much as Rou is probably a good thing. She can't seem to make up her own mind and being in a relationship with Rikuo just because he pressured her into it would be a bad thing.

I think Rikuo saying his feelings for her were a passing crush is a huge cop out though.

Not just sympathetic, but the guy was a predator using Shinako's feelings to blackmail her into dating him, if it wasn't just his immaturity then he is actually sick. That's just a set up to an abusive relationship.

Right Shinako shouldn't date anyone until she gets help. And totally agree, that was a major cop out, they've known and hung out with each other for years, yet he's in love with Haru who he just met. This wasn't some middle school crush you can dismiss when you look back on it. They were both mature adults who had a connection, it should have lead somewhere even if it didn't work out. Not a handshake and "whoops guess I made a mistake about liking you".
Though honestly the Shinako character is just one big contrivance to keep the show going, after seeing how "damaged" she is there is no way I believe she was somehow a normal partier in college who was fun to hang out with and that none of these conflicts about dating and Rou wouldn't have come up before. I mean think about it if Rikuo asks her out in college does she even think twice about a 12 year old Rou being upset? No, that's why her being upset now is so stupid. And why isn't Rou's dad telling him what an idiot he is and to leave Shinako alone. That whole family is creepy.
What sane adult woman would do something so stupid, we saw the reaction of Rou's friends to her imagine Shinako's co-workers reaction to him, she would be socially isolated and looked at as an idiot. Who would want that?

I know the Haru Fan Club™ may hate me for this, but reevaluation of Haru's status as an MPDG? There was some doubt as to whether she fit that category earlier in the series, but after Rikuo saying everything but the actual words "I'm a changed person because of you," I think she might have to wear the MPDG t-shirt after all.
