HARU!

Good god she reminds me a little of my younger self, but she still just about hangs in there...fight on!

Just thought of the happy ending route - Shinako x Haru. Thank me later.

Rotary phone and pay phone

My bad I guess Manga was released in late 90s and they are following it pretty closely?

Still excellent 3 episodes in. Definitely one of those shows that I'm finding myself a bit torn on how I want it to end up even if I could take a guess at how I think it might at least in broad strokes. Loving the rough but gorgeous art as well. The put together messiness really fits with the feel of the show.

Thanks for sharing!

Tip: You can use the chain link button near the colour buttons, or surround the text with url blocks like so:

[url]text_link_here[/url]
so that it turns to an easy clickable link. Note: you need to remove that last forward slash, so the parser understands it to be a link

In case other people in this thread have missed it, these extras seem to be exclusive to a TV broadcaster for some moneystupid reason, so here are the links posted from another thread:

For some reason putting the url tags around ANN or reddit links doesn't work for me. I tried, but when I clicked "preview post" the link just appeared as text. I just figured the forum software didn't allow links to those sites... Folks can always take an extra 5 seconds and cut and paste into the address bar, I guess.

Pretty sure rotary phone service was gone in the early 90's in the US.

My Gradmother had a rotary in the 80s though.

My family had a rotary phone until like 1995. It's definetly pre cellphone era.

They would have to; several plot points wouldn't work if they could just whip out their cell phones and call each other from anywhere.

I like it; it gives the show a more vintage (yes; the '90s is now "vintage"), romantic feel.

Also, so much protecc going on here:

The url tag used to work fine but a while ago something changed so it stopped working in cases where the url is beyond some number of characters -- but the behavior I observed in those circumstances was that it wouldn't display the url address at all--not just make it unclickable.

The "link" tag works though, so it's a good alternative, even if it is a little less simple. Like this.

[link url="url_link_here"]descriptive text which could also just be a repeat of the url link without quote marks here[/link]

Looking for the meaning of names:

魚住 陸生: (Uozumi Rikuo): Sound like contradiction to me , I do not really get this name, do you?
魚 fish 住 housing
陸 land 生 life, living

野中 晴: (Nonaka Haru) clear weather country land, suits well for Haru (but she is a storm )
野 plains, field, rustic, civilian life
中 in, inside, middle, mean, center
晴 clear up (The Kanji is not Spring, that is the most common for Haru)

森ノ目 榀子: (Morinome Shinako) Clear in the forest?
森ノ forest related
目 eye
榀 linden?
子 child
The kanjis for Shinako are strange. More common way of write it are here:
