My bad I guess Manga was released in late 90s and they are following it pretty closely?

This walkman was pretty much vintage in early 90's

That's an interesting take on history.

As far as I recall the Walkman didn't start its decline until solid state memory players got cheap enough to be viable competitors.

I, of course, had a MiniDisk player in the 90's

I think he meant that particular model, not portable cassette players all together.

I had several in the early to mid 90s and they all were a little more high tech than that one.

I never even considered that, for me that picture is what the Sony Walkman always looked like

It's a great illustration, too. I'm an industrial designer by degree and profession and that would be what we call "a portfolio piece."

Question-in after credit scene he shows the photo he took of the Crow and Haru but its folded to fit in case is that a Cassette case or CD case?
If its a CD case then might be an edit mistake in anime?

It was a CD case wasn't it? But I think that's OK for the 90's

It's a CD. front cover Kansuke (crow) + half Haru's face.
Back cover only Kansuke

That's an interesting level of quality for a manga panel

In a positive sense? (you'll have to forgive me, I'm a relative newcomer to manga) If so, that's probably why it took the author 18 years to complete 11 volumes.....

And I'll take anime Haru also---along with the other characters. Really like the character design updates for the show.

It does have more of a comic strip feel than a manga feel to it. Considering that it came early on in the story the art most have improved over time.
