It felt to me like this was the sort of thing that would have seen a lot more play in the source material but I can't say for sure as I haven't read it. That said, part of me does appreciate that he showed up, did what he needed to do and then left. If he was going to be a dead end anyway I'd rather it be that than something dragged out for multiple episodes when it was obvious all along it wasn't going to go anywhere. |

I think things sagged a little in this episode.
The reliance on coincidence has become a burden and Rikuo's reactions are starting to wear thin. |

Rotary phone and pay phone My bad I guess Manga was released in late 90s and they are following it pretty closely? This walkman was pretty much vintage in early 90's That's an interesting take on history. As far as I recall the Walkman didn't start its decline until solid state memory players got cheap enough to be viable competitors. I, of course, had a MiniDisk player in the 90's ![]() Still in use on 2045 |

Episode 6
Here comes Yuzuhara, who is a harbinger of doom as every band she has been a part of ended up disbanding, as well as Rikuo's ex-girlfriend. It's no wonder Yuzuhara has had trouble finding a boyfriend who will stick with her as her freeloading ways won't win her any favors. Yuzuhara sure is lacking in common sense, but Shinako knocked some sense into her, and now she has a job as a pianist. She's much better off being a solo pianist rather than a keyboard player for a band seeing that her social skills totally suck. While it doesn't solve her boyfriend problem, at least this job will go a long way to eventually solving it, so it's all good. |
