After the Ishuzoku Reviewers debacle I'd managed to keep up my boycott of Funi until now
Resubscribed... And worth every penny for this show alone. |

Ai is best girl because she's the best wingman and a secret agent. Chika and Kaguya are definitely close though.
This show is great for many reasons, one being the reactions along with deadpan statements. My favorite this time was Chika marrying Kaguya and somehow having multiple children to which Kaguya asks how its possible and Chika not only ignores it but later says they're spry in their old age. Granted, Chika is the only character who can pull off having an underlying understanding while still being seemingly an airhead. |

Let the games begin!
![]() Knocking out Shirogane by removing the drugs from his coffee was excellently silly. I don't know about running two stories up the side of a building, but it was otherwise well executed. I also particularly liked segment 2 where boyfriend-kun was told she liked wild confident guys, and it resulted in his decision to conform to it possibly out of insecurity. That's so high school. Everyone got a moment for themselves in the new start except perhaps Kei, the Shirogane little sister. Hope she gets a few bits this time too. What I liked most here was the difference of social manipulation between Hayasaka and Chika. Ai is ruthless and focused. She comes in like a professional with a hammer. The show also brings a character that lives in the background to the focus. Where as Chika executes in much the opposite way. The show takes the focus off her intent, and she doesn't have to follow any direction other than her whimsey. She constructs a situation, and then lets her players find their way into it. The board game is a bit unusually direct and luck based, but this is no mistake. All the parts she needs are there. She only made the event cards? She made all these about getting married, and having a successful company! All she has to do is find a way to arbitrarily give Kaguya a "distrusts men" card and things seem bound to fall into place. Chika's microcosm warning lets her have all the fun she wants. See Kaguya? ![]() |

Episode 2
That Shibuya shopping trip that was supposed to happen in the previous season that got cancelled because she was ordered to return to Kyoto, that's now happening. Kei is tagging along as Kaguya finds out that she's a lot like her brother, but that shouldn't be thought of as going out with Miyuki. Then it's Miyuki's birthday, and Kaguya is conflicted as to how to celebrate it even though she took the effort to make a cake going to court to make a decision. But in the end, she proceeded as planned with a cake and fan as a present. As it turns out, only Kaguya knows it having looked through his student profile and refusing to tell anybody else about it. Apparently Chika is the only one who doesn't know it since Ishigami also knew. That was great once again as Kei is cute, while Chika is funny when she goes bananas. |

Another fantastic episode, with the psychological machinations (internal and external) in full swing.
Some progress though! Kei + Kaguya are closer and Kaguya actually managed to give Shirogane the slice of cake. Was the translation of the calligraphy supposed to be deliberately off, or is that a real proverb? Some top notch voice acting by all the leads today, Kaguya's VA in particular. 9/10 |

You know Hayasaka is the best when she flawlessly suggested the best present for Shirogane

Any other comedy show would have just done the angel-and-demon-on-the-shoulder thing and left it at that. Kaguya-sama takes it up about 14,302,492 notches and does a full 10-minute courtroom scene. I love it. jellyblob wrote: You know Hayasaka is the best when she flawlessly suggested the best present for Shirogane ![]() Chika was best girl for a while there, but Hayasaka has quickly supplanted her. |

Ishigami came in with the save, lol. Episode was funny as always, glad we got more Kei and I already like Hayasaka so her getting more time to shine is nice too.

I refuse to give FUNI a dime. The fact I can’t buy certain anime they license in subtitles, but instead have to buy their shitty dubs.... So I’ll wait until this comes out for free somewhere. Enjoy everyone, I loved this anime, but FUNI business model is crap and I’m not supporting it.
