Azumanga Daio is originally serialized in a very popular "Electric Shock Daio" manga. The story revolves around high school girls. Each main characters have colorful and attractive personality for comic fans, such as gifted 10 years old high school girl, cool high school girl, natural high school girl, high school girl with glasses and weird older teachers. Based on four panel comic, each episode is rather short around five minutes.

Azumanga Daio also appeared as a short online movie, know as Azumanga Web Daio. Apparently they were also giving out free DVD of a short movie in March and April edition of Dengeki Daio magazine.

Since this series is licensed, it is not on CR. Instead, as with all anime's that are not on CR due to licensing, you can go to and watch it there. A good link for all the "subbed" episodes is at:

OK! Where to start! Azumanga Daio, an insanely popular manga in Japan, turned Anime with Twenty Six episodes that made me laugh so hard my sides actually hurt the next morning! Drawing on every possible persona and comedic plot thinkable, and loaded with cuteness in every episode, Azumanga Daio delivered far more than I ever expected. The music was cute, which matched the animation style and, of course, the story style as well, and I just couldn't get over the continuous puns thrown into the mix which only made it that much better. The characters all are very likable and well developed and each section of the story blended in perfectly for the creation of each episode. I strongly recommend this series as a must watch, though it may take a little knowledge of Japanese society in order to get some of the jokes, puns, or mannerisms.

It's more entertaining then lucky star. What interests me in this show is the actions each character does out of the blue.

The 1st episode of lucky star bored me to death <-- too much jap puns which i have no idea what it means.
